After looking forward to visiting Vancouver for some time, this "Signature City" program was all I had hoped it would be. Our guides and lecturers were outstanding and after five days I felt I had truly experienced the culture and heart of Vancouver.

This was my first Road Scholar trip and it was a great intro to both RS and Vancouver. I was traveling alone but wound up feeling very comfortable with the 19 other people in the group. The trip leader was excellent, very knowledgeable and personable. An instructor we had for two days was very entertaining as well as informative. The hotel we stayed at was well located and comfortable. I learned a lot about Vancouver and its history and felt the program could have included a bit more variety, including, e.g., Bouchert Gardens and an art museum. Based on this one, I intend to go on more Road Scholar trips.

Vancouver is magnificent. Trying to navigate on your own might be challenging, but doing it with Road Scholar made it so easy. The hotel we stayed at was two blocks from Stanley Park and the harbor--ideal views with Mt. Grouse in the background. Lucked out with great weather everyday (reminiscent of the weather in San Francisco)so that was a plus. I was prepared for wet, cold weather so this was a pleasant surprise. One of the best parts of the trip was a Foodie Tour--we went to 5 of the finest restaurants and had about 15 samples (small plates). Truly a treat. The guides were very educated about their city--and were able to provide all kinds of anecdotal stories about the city. Granville Island was very touristy--but looking at beautiful produce (cherries stacked into pyramids!) was delightful. Great trip...and for me the perfect amount of time. I feel I saw some of the finest highlights and while I'm sure there are many, many more things to see, I considered this a very good introduction to Vancouver, British Columbia.
