Sedona Watercolor workshop, fantastic, views everywhere inspired you to paint. Instructor very experienced and able to explain techniques well, all levels of students in class and all able to paint at their level. Everyone learned something new. Field trips to paint were fun and good outdoor practice. Food great. Other students great too. Nancy Huck Spokane WA

The watercolor class in Sedona, Arizona is outstanding and I highly recommend it to artists of all levels. The instructor, Sierra McKenna, is not only a master at watercolor, but she is a master teacher too! The scenery, accommodations, meals, art studio, and field trips were all perfect! Thank you Road Scholar for making this experience one I will definitely do again and again!

Everything about this adventure was top notch. The leaders were very intelligent, gentle and we learned more than I could have imagined. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in watercolors. Sedona is beautiful and the weather was lovely.

The program was great and fulfilled my goals of review and learning new techniques. I enjoyed Sierra's expertise and positive feedback. The group was diversified and I really enjoyed our last evening get together. Lots of fun, laughter, and spontaneous entertainment.

Sierra is an excellent teacher. I made a lot of progress thanks to her recommendations. I enjoyed our free afternoon hiking a lovely trail in the area. Others stayed to relax by the pool. The last evening song fest was great.

Joani from Palm Desert, CA Number of programs attended: 2
Date attended: 04/22/13 - 04/27/13
The program could have been expanded to include evening educational programs that are art oriented i.e. lectures or videos from local visiting artists with demonstrations and instructions. Too much free time. Group went their separate ways. Last evening we had a song fest and drank wine in the studio. Way fun!!!

Anyone wanting to learn about watercolor whether a beginner or someone who has done it for years I recommend a program with Sierra McKenna as the instructor. She was easy to understand and very approachable and helpful. And it is in a beautiful area--Sedona, AZ.

Five gold stars for this program. Sierra's instruction, demonstrations and guidance was inspiring. Dennis gently led and managed our group with skill and humour. From beginners to experienced painters, this program offers incredible educational value in beautiful surroundings, great food and accommodations. But the laughter and joy from breakfast to bedtime made this small group experience truly memorable.

What a magical week amid the breathtaking scenery of Sedona, AZ! Our instructor, Sierra McKenna, provided insightful information and demonstrations that benefitted both the beginner and the experienced artist as well. We had challenging painting exercises to practice the newly demonstrated techniques, and those who preferred to do their own projects were given ample choices from available photographs. Sierra was kind and engaging, and her criticisms were both helpful and positive. Her staff, Dennis Sigman, was attentive, ever-cheerful, and quick to respond to any need in the classroom or in the field. The field trips were outstanding, and the food at the Golden Goose, where we took all our meals, was truly delicious. Here’s where the experience moved from “excellent” to “magical.” Overriding the entire week -- from instructor to staff to participants -- was an abundance of great good humor. When we weren’t occupied with our painting, much laughter and interesting conversation filled our days. We were all on the same merry wavelength.
