Rafting the Grand Canyon was an experience of a lifetime for me. Although very physically challenging for me at my age, it was worth it to experience so much over the course of 9 days. The guides were competent, patient, and extremely helpful to all of us, and the scenery breathtaking. The guides knowledge of the history and geology of the Grand Canyon enriched the whole experience. I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants a challenging but exceptional experience.

This trip was wonderful and very satisfying. I did it mainly because of the geology. AZRA (Arizona Rafting) did a splendid job. The trip is physically difficult. I am very glad that I did more at the gym -- also at home every day by conditioning my "camping" muscles by crawling and getting up & down off the floor a lot. The heat was stunning. During the day we cooled off with river water. At night I was happy I had brought my folding paper Japanese fan (in a ZIP-LOC of course). As with my other Road Scholar trips, the participants were enthusiastic learners and had positive attitudes -- a joy to travel with. Looking at AZRA's website can give you lots of information way far ahead of the packet that comes shortly before the trip. Anyway, if this trip sounds good to you, I say, "Go for it !!" and have a super time.

This one has it all! Stunning scenery revealing hundreds of millions of years of the world's history. Exciting (not terrifying) rapids. An important window on America's history. Truly a program of a lifetime!

This is an amazing adventure. Our two. 'Boatmen' were two amazing young women! They astounded us over and over with there confidence, abilities, empathy, and overall amazing expertise. Oh, by the way, the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River are truly something to experience.

This trip was everything that I hoped for and more. Great rapids, great rocks, great food and great people. I will never forget floating down the Little Colorado. I agree with what Carl said about the AZRA guides and also the NAU coordinator, Srewart Lasseter, was very helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

A great program, loved the river. The ARZA guides (Jack, Clare and Steiner) were great. I liked sleeping out under the stars. A large group 25 but every one stayed together. Enjoyed drinking coffer at 5 in the morning with the group watching the sun come up. The first couple of days were cool wished I brought better rain gear. I would highly recommend this program.
