Road Scholar
Program #2816RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

We've always enjoyed "Signature City" programs. Usually they are "then and now" balanced. This one was too heavy on the "then". There is so much great and vibrant "now" in Atlanta area, possibly it will change to have more of an upbeat positive balance.

This program is a charming introduction to Atlanta, and encourages more exploration of the Old South.

This was my first trip with Road Scholar, but it will not be my last. I was very comfortable traveling alone. I felt safe and never felt lonely. I met some really interesting people and enjoyed the activities. I plan to visit New Orleans with my new friend Pat in Feb or March.

William from Seattle, WA Number of programs attended: 9
Date attended: 10/06/13 - 10/11/13
We had a terrific time. I agree our leader Gail Bell kept us taken care of and we learned so much about what it would be to "live here all my life". Other activities that were special..jazz music, opera Tosca, and the tour of the city includying the beautiful homes. Carolyn & Bill Stark

This was a wonderful program, and even though I lived in Georgia almost all of my life, I derived much from this study. Gail Bell was excellent as a group leader.

Susan from Dayton, OH Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 03/31/13 - 04/05/13
I really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Gail was the "best of the best". She was very proactive and really looked out for the group. As one of the youngest members of the group (53), I found I had so much more in common with this group than with others I've experienced outside Road Scholars. I met so many interesting people that I plan to stay in touch with. This was my first trip and I am very impressed. I highly recommend this tour as it gave a great overview of the city with a variety of activities and the right mix between lectures, tour and free time. The dinners were good but the lunches were outstanding! This was my first experience with Road Scholars and I hope to have many more.
