This was an absolutely beautiful gem of a program in the locations, cultural insights, historical information, and guidance by Dr. Mara Mori. October offered an autumal paradise of colors in the expansive villa gardens. The three hotels were conveniently located and provided good service. The first and last being a little more luxurious. The meals presented by Dr. Mori's specialty chefs were fabulous. it was a smoothly run trip that maximized our schedule, with some free time optional. I would like do it again in the Spring someday to see the gardens decked out. Dr. Mori and her other guides were fantantastic. Thank you all.

This was my first Road Scholar Program and it was excellent. I was impressed with our guide, Mara Mori and her knowledge, organizational and management skills. She was warm and friendly. The local guides she selected were also excellent and added to the overall educational value of the program. Overall an outstanding learning experience.

Mary from Mpls., MI Number of programs attended: 6

This was our sixth trip with Road Scholar and although we had excellent guides before this, Mara Mori was one of the best. Travelling with her is like the best college instructor you have ever had, plus the fact she is so pleasant and fun. We learned so much about this part of Italy, aside from its breathtaking beauty, Mara knew everything about the history, culture, literature, architecture, art and great restaurants. She covered it all.

Beach from The Villages, FL Number of programs attended: 40

The program led by Mari was the best of 42 I have attended. I would suggest reading materials about the history of the area to better appreciate the program although this is not mandatory. The country is beautiful and full of history i had never been exposed to. You will see beauty in Northern Italy that is like nothing you have seen before. This trip was the best.

Wonderful program with marvelous natural beauty combining lakes and mountains. Interesting history and culture of northern Italy where the Romans met the Germans creating a unique blend of peoples and culture. All of this with great food and wine.

This journey through a gorgeous part of Italy was extremely well-organized with skilled & knowledgeable leaders, interesting field trips, tasty food in welcoming restaurants and superbly-located hotels. Although I would have preferred a group size smaller than 30, our group was very congenial and cooperative and good planning made transfers and meals work well in spite of the number. It was very helpful to have the hearing technology so we didn't have to cluster around our guides. Highlights for me: the amazing natural beauty of the area, the boat rides on the lakes, a morning in the beautiful gardens of Villa Taranto, the lovely fresco cycle of the months in Trento's castle and free time (rather limited on a very busy trip) spent enjoying lakeside promenades & people-watching. I would absolutely recommend this trip to others.

The only things that surpassed the exquisite scenery were our guide Mara and the meals! The program is well paced and full of lovely venues--quaint and walkable old walled cities, breathtaking mountains, lakes, villas and gardens, and a wonderful variety of outstanding food. We loved the many chances to interact with locals.

La Dolce Vita was a splendid program and introduced me to an area that was unfamiliar and offered new sites sounds and tastes. Our Group Leader, Mara Mori is wonderful--professional, warm, expert about the area and its history. I strongly recommend this program to anyone interested in travel and Italy.

Ruth from Las Vegas, NV Number of programs attended: 1

The program was absolutely astounding and wonderful. However, our daily schedule was extremely busy.It was very special for me(Bob)as Mara pointed out some very important family historical points that confirmed my cultural heritage. Mara and Giada were enthusiastic guides who kept us going through the rain. The group response was great and everyone was timely and courteous. This was our first trip and we expect to participate in many more. So well organized. Bob and Ruth (Las Vegas)

This program focuses on the spectacular scenery of the Italian Lake District and the wonderful gardens there. The gardens and shrubs would be at their best in full color during the Spring, but our Fall visit was fine. Our guide, Mara Mori did a wonderful job in guiding us through this region, which she loves very much. I particularly enjoyed visiting the "Iceman - Otzi" museum. Our understanding of the Copper Age has been expanded immensely since his discovery, and there is a detective story there of his murder.

Barbara from Durham, NC Number of programs attended: 1

Wow! This program was fantastic. The people, food, wine, and scenic tours were all delightful. The places I visited were jaw dropping and picturesque. Our guides, Mara and Alessio were friendly, knowledgable and helpful in bringing the program to life. I will definitely sign up for another Road Scholar tour!
