An exceptionally well crafted program in all respects. It was all a joy -- concerts, lectures, city walks, meals -- and we learned a lot. Idea: before going on a trip featuring daily walks of up to two miles, walk two miles a day for a month before leaving on the trip. Maybe make that two miles a day for two months.

David from Florida It was a wonderful program, filled with musical performances, informative engaging lectures by local music professionals and expertly managed by the tour leaders who addressed our interests and needs. To be fair, the need for taxis came about to address the previous medical issues by some on the tour, and that was accomplished with great professionalism. It was an active tour and you should be able to walk for a few hours a day. Number of Programs attended: 3 Dates attended 10/09/15-10/23/15

The musical experiences on this trip were outstanding - lectures by outstanding musicologists and concerts in diverse venues with great programs and gifted performers. That was what we came for the the program delivered. On the downside there is considerably more than 2 miles of walking per day, more like 4 miles per day if you include getting to and from each day's experiences. Two members of our group missed some activities and had to hire taxis for others, while others of us soldiered on and went home exhausted.

The program exceeded our expectations! It helped that we had perfect weather in late October. The tour directors were wonderful, the accommodations great, the food out of this world! Most of all, we saw, we listened, we learned. It was the trip of a life time! Music lovers will not be disappointed.

If you like the music of Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Dvorak, and Smetana and other European composers; want to learn more about them and the culture in which they thrived; enjoy attending concerts in a variety of beautiful venues; and want do so in the company of like-minded, congenial strangers in some charming cities, this program is for you.

Overall this was an outstanding experience. As a lover of classical music, I was thrilled to be in Vienna, where so much musical history exists. To hear a concert at Musickverein, the hall of the Vienna Philharmonic, was so thrilling and moving to me. To see places where Haydn and Mozart played, to hear Haydn's church organ played, to be in the Stephansdom cathedral where Mozart was married and his funeral was held, the cemetery where Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and others are buried, to have lunch in a Salzburg restaurant that has been on that spot since 1045! The beauty of Salzburg. The history of Munich, the ballet at the Bavarian Opera House - one of the most beautiful things I've ever witnessed. Regensburg - like stepping in to medieval time. The timeless beauty of Prague with so much history. The accommodations were fine, though the shower stalls tight. European breakfasts left something to be desired - better coffee and better eggs! But the lunches and dinners included on this tour were all very very good in most instances, always in good restaurants. The transportation around and between cities was excellent. The guides, both the overall tour guide and the individual guides in different cities were outstanding. Very knowledgable and showed great enthusiasm for the topics and they had many detailed and obscure facts. They really made the program fulfilling and educational. The size of my group, 34, was too large. It was a drag on the overall experience at times. The daily scheduled activities for the most part were all worthwhile, informative, stimulating. A few times there was too much packed in, but you always had the option to skip something and remain on your own. Overall I highly recommend this program to anyone who is a lover of classical music and European history in general. If anyone reads this and wishes to contact me directly with questions, I would be happy to answer and help. Tom Soboleski - email: sage1951@att.net Essex, CT

"Music Conquers All." I can attest to that! The Great Composers was a beautiful music journey. Thanks to our leader Ingrid MacGillis we heard great music and even a "surprise" Magic Flute in Prague, In Vienna we heard the Ave Verum at the Jesuit Church and left singing to ourselves. The timeless silence of the Kloster Strahov was enhanced by the flute and guitar duo. The little concert of the Auer's at St. Salvator was a delight by a talented and expressive quartet. All music!

Great Composers of Central Europe was a multisensory learning experience that has enriched our lives. Pre-travel suggested reading helped set the foundation and feed our anticipation. The experience on tour exceeded expectations. We were privileged to attend private recitals in chapels, churches, and a monastary library, as well as to join with locals at stunning performance halls for concerts, operas, or ballets from supplemental options. Lectures by musicologists, performance musicians, and experts on history, culture, and architecture complemented and enriched the experience. Route of the tour - Vienna, Eisenstadt, Salzburg, Munich, Regensburg, Prague - was a veritable journey through the history of classical music. How does one describe attending Mozart's Coronation Mass at the Jesuit Church in Vienna on a Sunday morning? One doesn't, other than to say -- go on this tour, for the love of classical music!

The Great Composers of Central Europe program was the trip of a lifetime for me. You can study all you want about a composer, but you really don't know much until you've been in the places where he lived and worked, walked the same cobblestones he walked on, and heard his music in the very halls where he performed.
