The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta program is excellent. The lectures and field trips are all interesting and relevant to New Mexican culture. I guarantee you'll learn something new and meet many nice people.

A wonderful, total - BEST VACATION EVER experience -- I loved it and would do it again in a heartbeat! I do have to say, however, that weather was totally cooperative and I had an amazing, once-in-a-life time experience on my first hot air balloon ride!!

I found this program very interesting in the extended information presented about hot air ballooning in general and the historical and cultural background of New Mexico and Albuquerque as well as the visits to the Fiesta itself. The program was well organized for the activities and the schedule.

The Balloon Fiesta was Road Scholar trip #5 for me. Colorful! Fun! Interesting people! Less academic than other programs. Pure pleasure. A photographer's delight!

My wife and I have been world travelers for years - doing everything for ourselves. Now, at 73 I'm pleased to "leave the driving to some one else- Road Scholar" Never thought we'd turn onto "one of those tour group people". So glad we did. They take care of everything so we can spend our time doing what we went there for.

Visiting the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta is something my wife and I have talked about for many years. Participating in the Road Scholar program allowed us to visit the Balloon Fiesta without worrying about the traffic and parking involved in doing it on your own. I enjoyed the visit to the Anderson-Abruzzo Balloon Museum. The visits to the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center and Petroglyph National Monument added another facet of interest to the program. Christopher Gibson was our group leader, and he presented a lot of interesting bits of information about his hometown, as well as keeping us informed about what we would be doing and what was expected of the group.

As I was interested only in the balloon festival at this time, this 4 day program was perfect to see all the essentials of hot air ballooning, plus some cultural education of this area. In retrospect, I should have signed up a back to back extension trip to learn more of New Mexico as a whole.

Balloon Fest was lots of fun. facilities were adequate but the logistics of getting in and out of balloon park were superb. Weather will have a great influence on the success of your visit.

We were so happy we attended the Albequerque Balloon Fiesta by taking the Road Scholar Program. With 100,000 attending, it simplified our being a part o the festival. We were grateful for the transportation and how effortlessly we were able to enjoy the weekend.

Even though Mother Nature stepped in with wind and brief rain the main day of ascension of so many balloons from before day light - and then final evening of fireworks was an amazing experience! Bring your energy for early morning risings and find those benches to sit down when you need to!

There is probably no more convenient way to attend the balloon festival. Simply not needing to drive in the traffic congestion (that is an understatement) almost makes this program worth the money all by itself.

Once again, this program makes the difference between a great event and chaos. If you want to see the balloon fiesta, this is the only sensible way to do it. To try this on our own, driving to that venue in a car, bad idea.

This was an excellent program. Our group of about 45 had excellent accommodations at the Elegante. We had two early morning balloon lifts and our night Glow was cancelled due to weather - although the fireworks still occurred. The balloon festival was interesting in that you (and 1,000 other spectators) could mingle close-up with the balloon operators during the entire lift process. We stayed an extra two days and visited Sante Fe (via the Rail Runner) and the Acoma Pueblo. The shuttle at the Elegante was handy and useful. Free breakfast each morning. We are glad we chose this one.

Very sensational ballooning event, but can be improved.

Seeing the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque was a wonderful experience. It was great to have no worries about getting to the Fiesta. Being bussed there by our great bus driver, Billy, was great. Having the hospitality tent for us was a nice place to start. Being up close and personal to the balloonists and there balloons was great.
