If you enjoy singing music that is delightful as well as challenging and being with a group of very friendly and supportive singers, this program is for you. Andrew Walker is a superb and personable director, and it is always a pleasure to sing with him. We like the fact that the money collected at our concert at the end of the week benefits Faith in Action at a local church.

We, many of the participants, have a unique relationship with each other. We see each other at the various Choral workshops that are offerred through the United States. As a result we know each other very well to the point that we are all friends. Newcomers are always welcome since we make it a point not to discriminate. Musically, this is the best workshop that we attend, thanks to our director Andrew Walker.

Had a great choral singing experience last week in Abingdon, VA--where 48 singers from Maine to Florida and Louisiana to Minnesota mastered challenging choral music under the enthusiastic direction of Andrew Walker. The week's theme -- "American Poets Sung" --featured musical selections based on great American poetry by Walt Whitman and Robert Frost to Bob Dylan's "Blowin in the Wind". Saturday night's concert benefited the local Faith in Action Food Pantry.

This program was the 12th of the year for my husband and me, our 5th in Abingdon, and as always, one of our favorites. Imagine going to a Road Scholar program and being hugged and greeted by name by about 30 fellow singers! And with our farewell hugs we all agreed to meet again next November! Newcomers are welcome and encouraged to return, too, and even though many of us have sung with each other for years, there are no cliques. This time the theme of our music was "South of the Border," and we sang a delightful medley of numbers, both sacred and secular, under the excellent direction of Andrew Walker. We were glad to give a concert which benefitted the Faith in Action Food Pantry, and we were delighted to receive a standing ovation from the over 80 attendees.
