Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

We enjoyed our Road Scholar trip to Hawaii called O'ahu and Maui:Experience the Essence of Hawai'i. We had a schedule of lectures by professionals and experts in areas of language, culture history, tradition and horticulture. We enjoyed field trips to lush tropical areas, desert areas as well as whale watching and museums. A very fun trip for those interested in learning about the islands as well as enjoying the beautiful Hawaiian weather!

Hawai'i is very different from mainland USA, and this 2-island program gives a very good overview of the history, character and physical beauty of the state and its multi-cultural citizens. The program is a nice mix of lectures and field trips that give a true Aloha spirit.

Instead of handouts, ask about media use. Almost all of our guides used some sort of elctronic media and presented excellent programs with it.

What a super way to experience Hawaii for the first time. We enjoyed our first Road Scholar program so much. The field trips, the instructors, the leadership were fantastic. The people we met were wonderful. Thank you for the trip of a lifetime.

My recent Road Scholar trip to O'ahu and Maui: Experience the Essence of Hawai'i was delightful. The quality of the instructors was phenominal. Each one was so well informed and presented the material in such an undestanndable way, I couldn't belive the next one could do the same thing, but she did. I would highly recommend this program to anyone interested in experiencing and learning more about Hawai'i.

The best way to see Hawaii is via Road Scholar! It was my first trip to Hawaii and the time there and the learning experience was great!
