Road Scholar
Program #8553RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Easy
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

This program "Looking on the Bright Side" did JUST that . . I was subjected to a delightful woman with a wealth of knowledge of books, plus the long forgotten child in me was brought out with stories, games and puzzles. Also I was reminded by a skilled musical craftsman with untapped talent of long forgotten music and the joy it brings. I feel like I came away with many new additions to my family.

Before attending this delightful program, I looked at the Trout Lodge website and decided to stay several additional days to take advantage of the facility. I'm glad that I did, and enjoyed hiking, horseback riding, and arts and crafts - especially ceramics.

I wrote an earlier review but haven't located it yet, hope there's one for Debra Sagitto as I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Trout Lodge although some participants were out of my age range. I'm so glad they enjoyed their stay!

This was my first Road Scholar program and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will probably try other programs, based on the great experience I had this past week. I met some wonderful people among the other participants. The instructors, hosts, and all the employees at Trout Lodge took great care of us. Thank you.

This was the most enjoyable Road Scholar program I have been on. Melissa, the director, was phenomenal. Rick, Judy and Sheila, the instructors, made a wonderful trio that created such a pleasant atmosphere that flowed right into the audience.

It was a great experience from touching base with Melissa prior to coming to set up transportation, being picked up by friendly Irena and returned to the airport for departure by Kayla who was great. The whole staff and everyone I interacted with were friendly and helpful. I can't name everyone so will just say a general thank you for the terrific care.

It was a refreshing week of laughter and fun activities. The food was terrific; the setting was fantastic; and the friends we met were so much fun to be with.

Robert from Omaha, NE Number of programs attended: 5
Date attended: 09/16/12 - 09/21/12
I would highly recommend this program to anyone. This was our 5th adventure w/Road Scholar (Elderhostel) and have met those who have gone to as many as 30! Out of the 30 - there was just one criticism and it was a minor one. You cannot find a better deal anywhere when it comes to informative, fun, delightful leaders who really know their stuff and you cannot find better food anywhere! The people you meet at these gatherings are so outgoing and friendly that many have continued these friendships far beyond the end of the program....

I (we) would highly recommend the Road Scholar program to those seeking to further their broad education, share their experiences with total strangers, and enjoy a few laughs along the way.
