Certain aspects of this program provide dramatic and deep experiences at the heart of american culture in the mid-20th century: the Opry, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the Civil Rights Museum. It also has breadth, with information covering many aspects of the modern music industry and its development. It is very informative and entertaining, and at times moving. Well worth the time and money.

The Music Cities USA tour was just a fabulous experience. Our guides for this experience, Carol & Bill, were just so interesting and kept us all laughing. I enjoyed the music and the tours even though "country" is not my favorite genre. The "soul" experience in Memphis is more to my taste. It's a good tour made better by all the friendly people we met.

This was a marvelous trip full of music and history and magical performers. It changed the whole way I listen to a song - so much to know about who and why different kinds of music developed.

Coming from New York City we think we saw it all but this trip was over the top! Nashville and Memphis are places I would never have thought to venture, however, with our Leader Carol Burton and Bill it was wonderful. The history of the musical performers and the presentations were out of this world, "WONDEREFUL" I would recommend this trip to anyone, of any age, etc etc. etc.!!!!!!!!!

Thinking back on this trip, I probably enjoyed meeting, conversing with, and hearing the stories of my fellow travelers as much as I enjoyed any of the sites we visited. The tour is a good sampling of Tennessee's most famous music cities, their attractions, and other popular sites in and around the area. Not only did we visit the most famous - The Ryman Auditorium, RCA Studio B, The Grand Ole Opry, Sun Records, and Beale Street - but, we also got a good taste of the local cuisine, visits to a variety of other area attractions, and a fair amount of free time to explore the two, main cities on our own. Through it all, I could tell that Carol and Bill were working very hard to make sure we stayed on schedule, we all enjoyed our trip, and that we all got the complete tour we signed up for. Nice job!

We thoroughly enjoyed the music on this trip! Tours of the Ryman Auditorium, Grand Ole Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame, Rock 'n Soul Museum, Studio B and Sun Studios were amazing. Group leaders, tour guides and speakers added to our experience. Our first Road Scholar trip, but not our last.

Great to visit Nashville if you are a Country Western Music fan. Grand Ol' Opry was delightful.Informative lectures at both Nashville and Memphis. More blues, jazz, rock and soul. Even had a big band experience that we loved. A jazz trio at The Majestic restaurant in Memphis.

This was a fantastic trip! I liked it so much that I may do it again sometime. Nashville and Memphis are the home of the music that I grew up with. This was a wonderful opportunity to see live performances, experience two 'music cities', meet new friends, visit Graceland, and enjoy Southern cooking! Don't miss it!

Two, two, two trips in one! A jam-packed week of musical history and performance in Nashville and Memphis that left us wanting more of each. The week was a bit of a blur, as we never quite understood how it all fit together. The hotels were close enough to the action on Broadway (Nashville) and Beale St (Memphis) that we were able to sample the nightlife every night. Tours of the must see places in both cities kept us on the move with lunches and dinners at some very special places. The program had less than the usual amount of background and history of either city or the state of Tennessee. Considering that it was a new program it went very well.
