EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

An excellent program with an excellent staff. The hiking and wildlife observation were first-rate. I have talked about this program and Road Scholar to a number of people because I enjoyed it so much.

This hiking trip surpassed our expectations. I would encourage anyone interested in an active exploration of Yellowstone and Grand Teton to sign up. The Teton Science School rocks!

This was my third Road Scholar trip and it was by far the best. It will become the gold standard by which I judge all future programs. I can not speak highly enough for the professionalism of the staff at the Tetons Science Center--from Tiffany Smith on down to Rachel, Lizzie and Amy and the two evening presenters. The accommodations were comfortable and well-managed and the food was very good. I had a simply wonderful time

Signing up for this trip was one of my best ideas! The trip was well-organized, wonderfully executed. Teton Science School was a perfect base, away from the busy-ness of the Jackson resorts. Our host and guides were enthusiastic and professional, sharing their passion for the region with expertise and humor. It was a week filled with stunning landscapes and heartfelt laughter - a vacation for the eyes, heart, soul. Hiking options were offered in Tetons and Yellowstone that matched group-member abilities, and no matter the choice the trails were varied and gorgeous.

I highly recommend this tour! The program is very well organized and administered. The Teton Science School is a delightful base for the tour (great food, beautiful location, restful rooms). The tour guides were quite knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the area. The small group lends itself to getting to know tour participants quite well. Hiking and driving in both the Tetons and Yellowstone cannot be matched for beautiful scenery, interesting flora and fauna and wonderful history.

Yellowstone and Grand Teton Parks are places that should be on everyone's "bucket list". Unfortunately this trip as planned by the Teton Science School was full of logistical difficulties. The biggest problem was the hotels selected in Yellowstone were poorly located and resulted in much backtracking and wasted and unnecessary time riding in busses and required modify activities. The tour staff were energetic and made every effort to provide what was promised but the logistics failed them and the participants. This was my 6th trip with Road Scholar and it did not provide anywhere near the experience that I have come to expect.

Road Scholar's response:
Great news! We have recently changed the hotel locations in Yellowstone and believe that this will greatly improve the logistics of this program. We greatly appreciate your feedback!

This is a must for any first time visitor to Yellowstone who also likes and has the ability to hike. I do not beleive that we missed much. Geysers, mud pots, hot springs, fumeroles,Terraces, another "Grand Canyon", wildlife (bison, elk, picas, swans), history, beautiful scenery, wateralls..... Exhausting, empowering, life changing....
