I just completed "The Maya and More". A well-organized educational program with a variety of activities focusing on the classic and modern Maya. The logistics are well-planned, the tour director is very knowledgeable, the lecturers are enthusiastic about their subject, and the accommodations are comfortable. This in-depth experience was well worth my time.

My husband and I loved this trip. The seven ruins we explored differed in their complexity, condition, or period, and our many guides and lecturers exposed a full picture of early and modern Maya culture. The program is full but not hectic. It covers archaeology, spirituality, agriculture, wildlife, education, colonial architecture, and music. The hotels all had scenic environs and/or historic charm.

A rich and varied journey through the Maya world in Belize, Guatemala and Honduras. Excellent planning and leadership with interesting companions along the way.

The Maya program through Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras was worth every penny. It met our expectations in learning and experiencing the thrilling Mayan ancient sites, as well as enjoying immensely learning about the countries today and exploring the various cities we visited. Rita & Jim T. PA

This program presents a fascinating introduction to the Maya civilization, its amazing past and its present struggle. Visiting these 3rd world countries with Road Scholar felt safe. We were fortunate to be led by an excellent, experienced group leader, Julio, who took wonderful care of all of us.

This program would be interesting for anyone fascinated by Mayan ruins--two exceptional sites and two others of lesser magnitude. The other parts of the program were also very interesting and varied, including markets, churches, unusual museums and great scenery such as Lake Atitlan and Antigua. Our guide and instructors were extremely knowledgeable and exceptionally personable. A great opportunity for an amazing experience!

When 15 delightful days came to a close, our group of 15 people was asked if there was anything Roads Scholars could have done to improve our Maya and More experience. I think not. Bravo Roads Scholars, Julio and Mauro.

I can understand why this is the most popular RoadScholar program. It was as current as it was historical. I was dreading the heat and humidity but I am so glad I did this trip. I learned so much!

The trip that we just returned from, Maya and More, was an amazing journey into three beautiful countries. The ruins we saw and the people we met along the way, made it a fascinating trip. We highly recommend this experience. In addition, our speakers and main guide, Julio were top-notch, as was our driver, Monro. Meals and accommodations were wonderful. We highly recommend this adventure.

Absolutely outstanding program! The Mayan ruins were very interesting, but what made the trip really special were the insights into past and present Mayan culture. Clean drinking water always available, good food - including local specialties, very nice accommodations, and we always felt safe. Perfect combination of being looked after as well as opportunities to explore on our own. Our group leader, Julio, was beyond exemplary - one of the best tour guides that we have had anytime, anywhere.

The Maya and More trip was very interesting and exciting providing insight to people and cultures of which I was not familiar with a well guided, congenial group of fellow travelers.

We are an active couple in our mid 70's. This program was an amazing adventure that took us through 14 days of visits with an excellent guide, to Mayan Ruins, small villages, big cities and ancient sites, with beautiful hotels, comfortable transportation and knowledgeable lecturers at every step of the way. RS created a safe, positive environment that enhanced each day and created new learning situations which we will always remember and value.
