EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

A fabulous trip. We began & ended in Spokane. Each day was new & better than the previous day. It felt like we started where the flood began (N.E. corner of WA), & ended when the flood waters left E. WA – at Wallula Gap. On the last day, I was ready to do it all again.

Good things:
The leader (Don) was not a super scientist. I was worried about being overwhelmed with science, but the content was more conversational.
The trip was well organized & Molly kept us all informed.
The scenery was incredible!
The little historical tidbits about small towns & the Lewis & Clark trip were welcome so the trip was not all “flood, flood, flood”.
I loved the impromptu stops at Starbucks, a quick stop for those who wanted pictures of loess soil & the drive to the bottom of Dry Falls!
I met some fabulous people: Patsy from Alabama was a hoot, I found out late in the trip that Kimm knew all about plants, & John & Kay were a delightful couple.
Our bus driver (Chuck) was terrific – can that guy handle a bus or what!
Bathroom breaks were no problem; we stopped about every two hours & there was a bathroom on the bus “just in case”.
The bus had a great sound & video system –once we’d driven through miles of wheat fields we could watch a video about the floods – a nice change of pace.
TONS of ice water! Deee-lish!
The little goofy things were fun –guessing our mileage for the trip before we left the hotel (I was waaaay off) – & the raffles on the bus.
I was worried as a single person I’d feel left out – but not so. I was welcome everywhere & had a wonderful trip.

What I’d change:
At 1 hotel I could not get the room cool enough. I’m the one who wants an ice cold room so I can sleep under five blankets so it might just be me!
I wish there’d been some formal rock collecting.
I wish there had been a formal time to share email addresses & such.
I wish I’d gotten to know some of the other participants sooner; we were just starting to “gel” near the end.
