I chose this program because I am an opera lover and thought I might not care for the musicals. I was wrong about that. The three musicals we saw were as good or maybe even better than the opera!

Logan, Utah is located at the western base of the Wasatch Mountain Range, the youngest range in North America. The mountains rise abruptly with no foothills. This spectacular setting is a big plus for an excellent program.

I have attended this program for 17 years and it has always been a rewarding program

If you enjoy theater professionally performed in a beautiful setting paired with good food and comfortable accommodations, this program is for you. While the schedule is very busy, I recommend participating in all of it! You can nap when you get home.

I wrote a review in 2013 for this program. As planned, I DID return this year and again was delighted that I had! ! The Festival offers not only wonderful musical and opera productions with amazing talented performers, , but also many additional activities such as a presentation in the orchestra pit of the opera house by the very knowledgeable percussionist who introduced and demonstrated all of the instruments he uses . The outdoor Breakfast with the Stars was another very enjoyable and educational experience--each table had one of the stars of the opera we had seen the previous day eating with attendees and happily answering our questions. I -and many others of our congenial group of 40---plan to return next year!

I have attended this program 7 times. This year the instructional component was really outstanding. Dallas Heaton, Tammy Proctor, Nathan Buonaviri, and Richie Call all contributed to my enjoyment and appreciation of the various productions. This program ought to have the designation "BEST VALUE" because that's what it is. You will be very busy on this program because it is packed--7 productions, lectures, backstage tours. How nice to stay in a hotel on a lovely college campus with all meals included. You eat at many different venues--campus dining, catered meals, and downtown restaurants. UFOMT is doing fewer operas and more musical theatre these days. Listening to classically trained young vocalists doing musical theatre is exquisite. This was a wonderful program. kudos to the University Inn staff for pulling this off despite some obstacles this year.

Those at the Utah Festival go to great lengths to make sure the shows are presented exactly as they were intended. This includes a much larger orchestra than even on Broadway. It was an amazing experience. Many people repeat this program every year since the shows change. If you plan on going you better sign up as soon as next years comes available or you won't get a spot. Leaders where great food was great and accommodations were great.

I was on the waiting list but did not get to go on the trip. Am expecting a refund?

Squy from Cheyenne, WY Number of programs attended: 11
Date attended: 07/14/14 - 07/20/14
We've attended this program FIVE times because it is an excellent opportunity to learn more about operas, musicals, and plays. Utah State University, the University Inn, and the Conference Center provide outstanding support. This is one of best programs we've attended -- great ROI.
