I didn't know what to expect from this program, it's way outside my comfort zone. I found it to be very interesting and enjoyable and rewarding. My brain is so full of the facinating things I learned I feel I'm starting a whole new better life.

If you are interested in the three topics, this is an excellent program. The lectures are informative and the physical environment (redwood forest, prayer wheels, sculptures, temple, etc.) is beautiful. You'll come away re-charged and refreshed.

This was my first Road Scholar program and it surpassed all my expectations. I gave it a 5 star and would have given more if it was possible to do so. I can't say enough about the delicious vegetarians meals, the wonderful location, the friendly and knowledgable instructors, the always smiling and helpful staff and the other participants who were very welcoming. I came back with a sense of renewal and well being, armed with loads of knowledge to put to use for improved life style. I have recommended this program to all friends and family members and know that I will attend again in a future date. The only caution I give is regarding the sparse accommodations which turned out to be very fitting for this program, don't expect "hotel" type rooms. These are just nice clean rooms, nothing more or less. There is so much packed into this program: tons of good information and helpful guidance on how to improve your nutrition, Qi Gong movement training as well instructions on Buddhist philosophy and short guided meditation sessions.

nice program nicely paced, i received information that is beneficial to my well-being and overall health. I enjoyed the participants and the food was extraordinary as was the staff, grounds and general ambiance of this place. Situated in the santa cruz mountain/town area it is surrounded by incredible old growth forest, herb id walks and buddhist statues, it is a one of a kind experience. Not to be missed. Inexpensive for a retreat and a great value.

Wendy from Eagan, MN Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 06/15/14 - 06/20/14
This was my first Road Scholar trip, my first travels since my husband died. I was nervous to go by myself but I shouldn't have bothered to be nervous - it was wonderful! I met many nice people, the trip itself was perfect! Road Scholar and Land of Medicine Buddha Retreat Center did a great job with all the details and I always felt it was organized, well run, and that I was in good hands. I highly recommend this trip if the description meets your interests!

Overall delightful course that provided information and activities that can change one's lifestyle, beliefs, and health. Thoroughly enjoyed myself and hope to return for more.
