Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Outstanding program! The balance between free and structured time was perfect. Great lectures, expert guides, exceptional mixture of fun, information and culture. Staying on the outskirts of the city gave us extra time to tour the neighborhoods and make a trip to Tybee Island, and the accommodations were very spacious and comfortable. We loved it!

Rachel Perkins was a wonderful leader, introducing Savannah in an easy-to-understand way for those of us unfamiliar with the planning and colonization of Georgia, and Savannah in particular. "James Oglethorpe" and his explanation of the "Georgia Experiment" were well received. I enjoyed the talents of Kim Polot and the Duckworths singing some Johnny Mercer favorites. And who wouldn't love a trip the Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House and the 1790 Restaurant? Yum! A free afternoon to wander and photograph the squares of the Historic District made the program complete.

Stephanie from Bradenton, FL Number of programs attended: 2
Date attended: 04/21/13 - 04/26/13
Rachel was a terrific leader and was very knowledgeable and helpful. I loved her sense of humor, also. A couple of my favorite programs were the Oglethorpe impersonation by Scott Hodges and the Johnny Mercer Trio.

Roads Scholar is a wonderful program. Everyone should try it.

Barbara from Seattle, WA Number of programs attended: 6
Date attended: 03/03/13 - 03/08/13
The guide, Rachel was outstanding -- knowlegeable, & responsive. The Ogelthorpe impersonation was outstanding and I enjoyed all of the trips. The Ogelthorpe Inn would have been entirely satisfactory had it been more convenient. The bus to downtown runs only once per hour and there doesn't seem to be a schedule -- I feel that a 45 minute bus wait followed by a one hour bus ride to town is not OK. I am a bus rider from Seattle, so I didn't mind the ride, only the wait. The catered food from the Fiddler across the street was unsatisfactory to me. Using plastic plates and utensils for every meal is so wasteful for our environment. Our free dinner meal at the Fiddler was OK but the catered meals were not OK for me.

Troy from King City, ON Number of programs attended: 4
Date attended: 03/03/13 - 03/08/13
Overall, the programme was very good. I especially appreciated the input from our group leader, Rachel Perkins, and the presentations by Scott Hodges (Oglethorpe) and the Duckworth and Pelote trio.

Peggy from Grand Rapids, MI Number of programs attended: 10
Date attended: 03/03/13 - 03/08/13
I enjoyed this program very much. I fell in love with Savannah.

Julie from Beacon, NY Number of programs attended: 3
Date attended: 10/21/12 - 10/26/12
Thoroughly enjoyed my Road Scholar trip to Savannah from the lectures, to the meals, to the tours and the free time. As always, the fellow participants are always wonderful and many have traveled to lots of interesting places with Road Scholar, making comparing notes fun. Julie & Gene
