Our group was able to see many birds, animals and plants native to the countries we visited. The guides and lodge staffs were knowledgeable and consistently demonstrated a commitment to ensuring our safety, comfort and quality of experiences. Many went out of the way to personalize our experience. A truly unique experience! Travel and accommodation details were well managed.

The most wonderful trip I have ever been on. The leaders, guides and staff were incredible

Nora from Seattle, WA Number of programs attended: 3

Wild Africa exceeded my expectations. The group leader, guides and staff were universally great. I would suggest that potential participants check the weather for each session as the experience might well be different depending on when you go on your trip, e.g summer, spring, etc. Be realistic about your expectations, what animals you may see, the weather, etc. I brought 2 pair of long pants and 2 pair of shorts and 3 short sleeved tops/ 2 long sleeved tops, and that was plenty because of the free laundry services and the time of year. Be sure to bring eye drops, sun glasses and a hat. I know that your fee includes tips but many of us found ourselves tipping for the exceptional service we received. ATMs are very limited and didn't work when were tried them. I brought $200 and had to borrow money from other participants because credit cards are not universally accepted.. Learn how to use your camera and practice taking pictures if it is a new one, before you leave - no one is going to teach you how to use it on the trip. I bought a "point and shot" one with a telescopic lens and was not disappointed. Many people brought binoculars and used them daily on on our drives. Be sure to bring some type of bag/back pack for the drives to hold, sun tan lotion, bug repellent, water bottles, etc. Many people brought information/books on identifying animals and especially birds.

The game sightings were unbelievable...so much more than I've experienced on any other safaris. We were so fortunate to have James McHendry as our guide. The accommodations were exactly as described...comfortable yet in the wild. The food was excellent. This was my first Road Scholar trip and it was one of my best trips ever.

It was a wonderful experience, everyone involved in making this trip great were helpful, funny, with a great deal of helpful information. Food was great, animals of course were wonderful to see outside of cages! Many field trips starting at 6:45 and again around 3PM. Enjoy and ENJOY

Wild Africa is a excellent trip for you if you want to see many species of mammal, bird, reptile and plant. Multiple game drives each day mean you are in the field and searching out wildlife continuously. I counted 30 species of mammal that I saw plus a few reptiles and more species of bird. Four of the "big 5" were seen, including lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo. You have time to see and observe wildlife as they interact with others and the environment. Most on my trip felt that their expectations were exceeded.

The program to Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia is spectacular! We saw so many animals - all of "the big 5" and lots more - in different settings and situations. Each day was exciting and full of new and interesting information; lodges were utterly comfortable; food was exceptional. This is an amazing, delightful experience from start to finish!

I just returned from this program and I have to say that this is THE BEST trip of my life. I'm just sorry that I didn't go when I was younger so that I would have more time to return again and again. I kept pinching myself to be sure I didn't just dream that I was in a National Geographic Special. Our guide Lisa Reed, was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, well-organized and personable. The accommodations were 4 and 5 star, even the tent camp was luxurious by tent standards and the food was delicious, beautifully served and bountiful. The amount of wildlife we saw was overwhelming and we were "upclose and personal" often which was truly awesome. I am ready to go back.

Marvelous adventure. 5-star rating. Animals too numerous to count. Passionate guides at every stop. Visit to school, village, and orphanage opened eyes to the culture. September was a wonderful time to visit - animals frequented water sources in the dryness and bugs were few. Magical mornings in bush camp and wonderful days/nights on safari.

Bob from Lincoln, MA Number of programs attended: 4

A wonderful set of experiences: the animals, the people, the landscape. We have memories that will stay with us forever.

Don't know howyou can top this! So many animals that it almost seemed staged: mock charge by an elephant, lions stalking a giraffe(it got away), hyenas fighting over a kill, baby baboon falling off mom's back, elephant and hippo on lawn of lodge, zebra, impala by the score and much, much more.
