The Road Scholar Alasla [rpgra, Se[t/ 7-17 was delightful in every way. We lucked out withthe nicest possible group of participants. It was a small group - 12 plus Joh Scheerens, the leader. He is an excellent lecturer supporting his presentations on the history, economy, flora and fauna ahd descriptions of the original peoples and their heritage with excellent power point presentations. The shore trips are informatiave and illuminating and you can see as much or as llittile as you have strength to wallk and absorb.

I enjoyed our trip to Alaska. John Schereens was a great naturalist to help us learn about the land, its people, and its history. For me, the 4 or so days that we spent at sea going from and coming back to San Francisco were a bit too long. Unless you are a fun and games person who likes to take full advantage of the ship's programming, those days at sea were dull. Otherwise, except for the oddity of the deck arrangement mid ship, the service and food were very good.

What an amazing Road Scholar program, combining the best of Road Scholar with all that Princess Cruise Lines has to offer! We enjoyed it immensely! Our coordinator, John, a 30+ year resident of SE Alaska and experienced tour guide, was so knowledgeable, patient and personable. He taught us everything we wanted to know about Alaska. Our excursions in ports were very interesting, with much background provided by wonderful guides. The crew of the Grand Princess was so accommodating we wanted to bring them home. The food was quite good (as shown by the scale when I got home) and the shows on board were really entertaining. We had been to Alaska 3 years ago but there was almost no repetition of what we did then. This is an outstanding program!

Don't miss this program! John Scheerens is a fantastic program organizer/leader. Alaska is one of the best places in the world to visit. When you tour with Road Scholar you are better prepared before you go, the program teaches you as you are participating, and your memories of the trip make you look forward to the next one! Go see and learn!

This program was a great introduction to Alaska, especially for folks who are limited in the mobility. It was also a good cruise experience for those who enjoy the ocean, huge boats, food, and entertainment.
