See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Fun and interesting trip with a great group of leaders and participants! I would highly advise going on the trip, just remember to ask for a complete packing list from the leaders so you come prepared with the necessary camping equipment (2 water bottles attached with 2 strong carabiners and a camp coffee mug, etc.). Also bring dual purpose shoes for use on the river as well as hiking. Bring a good raincoat and rain pants and warm fast drying clothing (and a handy garbage bag to contain your clothes in the provided dry sack) as you may need them. Also bring a good small flashlight for camping, and maybe a fast drying camping washcloth, also a bandana or two and lots of sun protection - sunscreen and a good hat and gloves that will keep your hands dry - also hand lotion as they will need it. The scenery is spectacular and well worth it!

A fun trip, especially for those who like to paddle our own kayaks (duckies). Easy rapids, lots of archeological sites and a group where everyone socialized with each other

For anyone interested in the geology and human history of the Colorado Plateau, this is a great program. Add a scenic, meandering river with Class I & II rapids, excellent river guides, birds and wildlife, congenial companions, plenty of good food, and warm, sunny days and crisp, starry nights. Bring your curiosity and sense of humor, and be prepared to help with the dishes! You'll have a wonderful adventure!

This was my first river trip and I signed up with the intention of answering my question: “Do I want to do a 2-3 week oar-boat trip through Grand Canyon?” Really glad I didn’t just sign up for a Colorado River trip first, because this was all the challenge I was up for. However, I would do this trip again anytime. The challenge was just enough to make me feel…well…more alive! The guides couldn’t have been better, co-travelers were friendly, interesting and fun, and the food was great. I already had an addiction to what I call “red rock country” and this didn’t help. Now I have even more books to read, maps to pore over, and trips to plan on the Colorado Plateau.
