EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Overall I am glad that I went on this trip. I got to see parts of Utah that I was unfamiliar with. BUT there are some things to be aware of. The cycling portion of the trip was pretty limited. Two of the days had total mileage of 20 or less. If you are an avid cyclist I would not recommend this trip. Although there were a few short challenging climbs the total mileage cycled was very low - 216 miles over 8 days. The hiking component of the trip was very enjoyable, but this was not billed as a Bike and Hike trip. It is billed as a Bike tour. Also - the eating options were probably in fancier restaurants than I would have chosen myself but the meal selections for vegetarians is extremely limited. Vegetarians would be better served selecting their own restaurants but this is impossible in group travel.

Road Scholar's response:
We appreciate your comment and apologize if the daily mileage was not as expected. As noted in the daily itinerary of this program, participants ride between 18 and 60 miles each day with opportunities to increase mileage. All participants are welcome to ride more miles above and beyond what is done with the group and that is also noted in the daily program description.

This was a physically challenging outdoor experience in a breathtaking part of the country. Well paced and well organized, this program immersed us a new part of our world!

Cycling Bryce and Zion Canyons was to be a major part of this trip. Due to the closure of the National Parks by the US Federal Government in the period that encompassed by this holiday, we were unable to fully experience the trip as it was intended. The leaders did an excellent job of substituting alternate venues which were interesting and enjoyable. Notwithstanding these closures, we had a great vacation.

Even though there was the gov't shutdown which impacted the visitations to the Nat'l Parks and Monuments, the program leaders did a remarkable job on finding suitable alternatives. The hybrid bikes supplied were good for this trip, and were well maintained. Bike fitting was also very good. The biking brought out the best in everyone, and in some cases pushed us to our limits. Glad I did some hill climbing training prior to the trip, as this allowed for abilities which were beyond prior expectations. This trip was truly memorable, in a good way. Wonderful group dynamics, sort of like extended family. I recommend this trip for others who are avid cyclists, but be prepared for the hills. Great trip overall.

An excellent and challenging program for avid and well-conditioned cyclists. Put in some miles on your bike before the trip including hills. The more fit you are, the more you will enjoy this trip.
