Road Scholar
Program #2809RJ
9 Days | 8 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

This program was wonderful in all areas. It increased my desire to visit more National Parks on the west.

THIS TOUR TAKES YOU TO THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND DIVERSE SCENERY YOU WILL FIND ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. WE HAD THE BEST TOUR GUIDES - CAROL, ROGER AND JOHN - ALL FORMER PARK RANGERS WHO KNEW THE PARK AND WHERE TO GO TO SEE THE BEST OF THE BEST. ALL THREE HAD SUCH A LOVE FOR THE PARK THAT IT WAS ABSORBED BY THE PARTICIPANTS. THEY WERE KNOWLEDGEABLE, ENGAGING AND FRIENDLY AND THEIR SOOTHING MANNER MADE FOR AN ACTIVE TOUR THAT WAS STILL RELAXING AS THE WHOLE TRIP WENT SO SMOOTHLY. ALTHOUGH A BIT COOL SOMETIMES, THIS WAS A GOOD TIME OF THE YEAR AS THERE WERE NO CROWDS OR TRAFFIC JAMS AND SNOW WAS STILL ON THE TETONS.

Carol and Roger were wonderful guides to this amazing part of the country. This is my first trip with Road Scholar. If all experiences are that great, I would go on another. We really were shown the best of the parks. I would never have gotten the same knowledge trying to do it on my own. A truly inspiring trip.

This was an absolutely wonderful program in all ways except one. We were supposed to stay in the Lake Hotel for two days and we ended up in the Lake Cabins. There was a construction project and large parking lot between us and the Hotel and no view. We deserved notice of this major change at minimum. What was promised in writing was not delivered. This was a major disappointment on an otherwise terrific program with great leaders.

Road Scholar's response:
Thank you for your comments. We apologize for the last minute change in accommodations. We fully expected to be in the Lake Hotel but due to the ongoing construction that wasn’t finished in time for the start of your program, the group was moved to the cabins for your program date. Still, not every room at the site has a view so it is not something we guarantee, regardless of whether we stay at the hotel annex or the lake cabins. The lodging change on your program date was a one time fluke and will not happen again on future dates, though we do express our sincere apologies that it impacted your experience. We appreciate your feedback and comments.

I saw things that will be with me forever - geysers, canyons, waterfalls, and wildlife everywhere - a true American Serengeti.

Bonnie from Peapack, NJ Number of programs attended: 2
Date attended: 06/08/14 - 06/16/14
This was my first Road Scholar (aside from a brief 4-day local trip)adventure and I loved it. We were fortunate to have the best leaders who loved what they did and had so much to share. I was truly inspired by this journey.

Do not miss this excellent program if you want to experience our National Parks. Yellowstone and Grand Tetons program was excellent in every way.

This was our first trip with Road Scholar but it will certainly not be our last. This was an excellent way to see the Tetons and Yellowstone Parks! I would highly recommend Road Scholar!
