Experienced and knowledgeable instructors led us through glorious Glacier National Park. Staying at the gorgeous Many Glacier Hotel was a highlight! Diane Yerkes, California

Excellent program. Most beautiful hikes in the country. The guides were knowledgable, helpful, and competent especially since this was bear country. Lodging and food at Great Glacier Hotel was 5 star. Food at Kandahar and adjacent restaurant not as good, but very acceptable. I would highly recommend this program.

Trailside Glacier Program #4863 is a great program. The two most scenic hikes are Iceberg Lake and Grinnell Glacier. I also recommend the Highline Trailhead with the Garden Wall and Avalanche Lake. Our group leader, Dave Streeter, and field instructor, Brian Peck were excellent!

I recommend this trip to anyone who likes to hike and loves the mountains! It was the best RS trip we have been on: great accommodations, delicious food, and wonderful scenery, complemented by a very interesting group of people. The hiking was not overly taxing, but was strenuous enough that you need to be in decent shape and able to handle some altitude.

If you want a moderately challenging walk/hike experience at Glacier National Park without the hassle of planning and traveling, this trip is for you. The leaders were excellent and the hikes, although mostly flat, were lengthy enough to be considered challenging, at least in terms of length (anywhere between 3 and 10 miles long). Further, you might be lucky enough to see some wildlife (bears, moose, sheep) that are sighted by the leaders and other participants. You will also make some new friends!

To hike in beautiful Glacier National Park in the company of other hikers of like mind was very lovely. I like to do it again, maybe a day or 2 longer.

This was my first trip and it was fabulous. Our trip leader and instructor were the best. The scenery spectacular. What a fabulous experience to stay at Many Glacier Lodge and look out over Swift Current Lake and the surrounding mountains. Everything was great.

This program was wonderful. The scenery was beyond beautiful and it was so exciting to see moose, black bear, deer, mountain goats, mountain sheep, marmots, and various rodents. Our group had a fabulous time. Thank you Road Scholar, for the best hiking trip ever!

As a veteran of many RS/EH hiking programs, I can say that this is one of the best. It's hard to beat the magnificent scenery of Glacier and its many glorious hiking trails. Leader Steph kept things running smoothly with only a minor glitch or two in communications about times. She facilitated seamless adjustments called for by weather and trail conditions. Instructors Becky and Ed provided information and enthusiasm along the way. Instructor Dave was an inspirational joy with whom to travel and hike. The accomodations near Whitefish were very comfortable and it was indeed a treat to spend three nights at the historic Many Glacier Lodge -- rustic but oh so gracious. Food ranged from adequate to very good. Participants were able to select a challenging, moderate or somewhat easy-going hike each day -- all filled with wildflowers, wildlife sightings and expanisive vistas. A caution: this is a HIKING trip and the altitude is significant. You'll miss out on the best parts of the trip if you're not prepared to hike at least five and possibly up to twelve miles daily on rocky, uneven trails with as much as 2000 feet of elevation change. It's not just a "walk in the park." As is often the case on RS hiking trips, sharing the trail and becoming friends with the other participants was the highlight! Happy trails.
