See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
If you’re looking for a more flexible schedule with ample independent time and several meals on your own, then our FLEX learning adventures are made for you.

This was an absolutely marvelous Road Scholar experience! It had been 52 years since I traveled by train, and it was an experience that no one should miss. All our hotels were very comfortable with excellent guest service and ideal locations for visiting around the cities. It was nice to have enough free time to see places or attend plays on our own. The pace was just right, and we never felt hurried. The planned activities gave us a good overview of some of the major features of each city and gave us the opportunity to really learn something about the cities. They were all extremely interesting. Diane made us all feel that we were part of a cohesive group, and we made several new friends. We've taken several travel-agent led tours as part of our U.W. Green Bay Learning in Retirement program, and Diane was as good as they come. She not only plans things meticulous, she quickly solves any problems that arise. And she is FUN to be with. We can hardly wait until we can take one of her Road Scholar trips on the Mississippi.

What a great trip, with our tour director Diane Van Wyngarden covering all the details beautifully. Free time was integrated into an otherwise full schedule of interesting sights in the three cities. Loved it!
