While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. Minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding, and rewarding, programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Clean up after approx 80 fellow diners? That’s what we were asked to do. Since there were 18 in our group, we gamely signed up for the task, along with a stint as after-dinner babysitters. We were being asked to do this for our group, plus a large party that arrived several days into our stay. We complained to RS customer service, and a rep, surprised to hear about the chores, assured us that we didn't have to participate. The 1st week of July was buggy. Not just a few, but bloodthirsty clouds of black flies, plus deer flies & mosquitoes. To keep the biters at bay, we were issued uncomfortably warm net jackets with face-covering hoods, elastic wrists & waists. We were advised to wear long pants (in the summer heat) tucked into socks and to use repellent. We wore anti-bug garb whenever we stepped outside even for walks between buildings, or submit to being dive-bombed. Our picturesque cabin had foot-long gashes in some window screens. After being needled by mosquitoes the first night, we asked for them to be repaired, and they were. Enough participants complained about situation that RS issued a $100 credit per person on future trips –- a decent response considering the abject misery. Now, there were good things about this trip, e.g. lovely scenery. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, genuinely in love with the property and resigned to the bugs. (Black fly season was longer than usual this year, they told us.) The music and dance, nature walks, canoe trip, and arts and crafts activities were well run and fun, but all of this took place under a constant barrage of bug attacks. All meals were included and the food was plentiful and was of ok quality for cafeteria buffet-style service. Trays would have been nice so that guests would not have had to make multiple trips to get food, sides and drinks, especially if you were helping young children. Weighing the good with the bad, our family would not recommend this trip at even half the price.
