The Laurel Highlands section of the Gap is simply beautiful! Road Scholar did a wonderful job providing a pleasant bike tour.

This was a beautiful and rewarding bike trip. Riding 100 plus miles on a trail without cars, the sound of cars, was fantastic. The views were beautiful. Much thanks goes to the ride leaders and the trip coordinator who allowed me to have 3 days of great bike rides.

This was a great program for bikers of varying levels. I was a bit hesitant at first and went along to please my husband who is a stronger biker. The program was so well organized and the leaders and "sweeps" so helpful that my confidence level was boosted and I did quite well, even making the 38 miles on the last day that I wasn't so sure I could do. The first day is a slight uphill for 9 miles, but nothing you can't make going at a moderate speed--I never had to downshift from my third to second gear. And the beauty of the water and flowers--wonderful. Finally, the trail is extremely well maintained and there are few bikers during the week. Coming from an urban area where you have to watch out for racing bikers, hikers, baby strollers, and runners, all using the same trail, this trip was an absolute delight. The oldest in our group was 83 and he regularly outpaced me. We were also very lucky in the weather--only on the third day did it get hot and humid, which put a dent in our speed and enjoyment.

This was an excellent program for those who love to bike in a very rural setting. The trail is in great shape. The leaders were wonderful.

This was my first Road Scholar program, and it has set a very high bar for any future programs I will attend. The program organization and on-trail leadership was excellent. The program schedule was very clear and was followed as outlines with any deviations announced well in advance. Also great on-trail support was provided with breaks, lunches, repairs, etc. The leaders on the trail provided excellent direction and were able to work with riders of all skill level. They allowed for each person to go at their individual pace while providing for good group cohesion and camaraderie. And many educational opportunities were provided as the leaders knew the trail well. Finally, the trail itself is beautiful; even the little rain encountered on the 3rd day did not dampen my enthusiasm for this program. All in all it was great. I plan to attend the program again with my spouse.

We were very pleased with this tour. The Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) bike trail was very scenic with abundant flowers and woods. It was in excellent condition in spite of a rainy summer. The "Challenging" level is an appropriate rating, indicating that participants should be able to bike 28 miles the first day, 30 the second day, and 42 on the third day. The leader at the front and the sweep at the rear allowed us to stop to stretch, take photos, and vary our pace within the group. The guides and staff at the Laurelville Center were wonderful, so willing to accommodate our needs. The center food was hearty and plentiful with fruit, granola bars, and water provided at the break stops. The restaurant meal (part of the tour) was a dinner to remember! Thanks to the terrific staff and participants!
