While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.

EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

I agree with the other reviews; this was one wonderful program! So well planned, a great learning, and I truly enjoyed all the group members.

The pottery making was a vehicle through which we had an introduction to the amazing Hopi culture. The clay is transformed into a fond memory that will last a lifetime. Alice and Caroline were wonderful. Their talks brought the Hopi culture alive. The grandeur of Capitol Reef can only be believed by seeing it in person. Also the food was excellent. Gary and Sandy's hard work payed off with meals that required long walks to enjoy the fantastic scenery. An amazing balance.

What a good program !All details planned extremely well by our coordinators. Plus very good quality of food and lodging.
I have been happy to discover the Hopi culture , learn to make my own hopi pottery but also watch the whole firing process . all extremely interesting .thaanks to our devoted Hopi teacher ,
The beautiful view from our conference room was matching the relaxing and friendly atmosphere of this program. .The scenery of our easy hike at Grand Wash. Is magnificent. I also like the discovery of petroglyphes , museums and videos on geology and Hopi culture.. One more excellent program.

I haven't worked with clay since 3rd grade (55 years ago), and I was able to make a lovely "Hopi" pot. My hope was to make an okay pot. It was a wonderful experience.

Alice and Caroline were wonderful. In addition to teaching how to make the pottery they taught us about the Hopi culture. The food that Gary and Sandy catered was great!!! You will gain weight on this trip. The motel had a wonderful view out the conference windows. It snowed and we were able to get great pictures of the snow covered red cliffs. Can't promise that it will snow for your trip.

This was a remarkable, rememberable, life experience. Brought home more than pottery. Truly Gods country and Alice is an undiscovered national treasure. Had fantstic leaders, fantastic time. Valuable experience, personal attention, fantastic value for the dollar. Sign up for this. A+

Wow! This program was a unique and extraordinary experience. We spent one week learning the traditional method of Hopi pottery-making with Capitol Reef National Park as our breathtaking venue. Hopi pottery is unique in the world in that the same people have made it in the same place using the same methods for over 1,000 years. It reflects creativity and painstaking craft in this historic context. Alice Dashee was our expert Hopi teacher who patiently guided us through the intricate and challenging traditional activites of hand building, molding, sanding, stone polishing, painting, and firing our own pottery projects. In addition, Alice shared with our group cultural insights into current Hopi life. This program is a rare opportunity for anyone interested in Native American culture and art.
