If spending time with your grandchild while being excited and looking forward to the next day, then this experience at the Cosmosphere in Kansas is something not to pass up. It was fun, humorous, and educational. We both can not say enough good things about the experience.

This is one fantastic program! I think my granddaughter picked it primarily because it fit in with the days she had available this summer, and she would get to fly a plane, to learn a little bit more about her late father's profession as a commercial airline pilot. The Cosmosphere is an amazing place, and the program vastly exceeded our expectations. It was varied, and kept us busy the whole time, from the controls of a Cessna 172, to a Space Shuttle launch and mission, building and setting off rockets, programming robots, and exploring the depths of a salt mine. The museum is incredible, and having several days to explore it allowed us to really appreciate all its displays. The museum scavenger hunt was also a fun - great learning experience. We both came away with lifetime memories, and also a greater appreciation of space. I highly recommend this program!

This program is of great interest to young people interested in aviation and space travel. The Cosmosphere is a wonderful place to learn about these subjects. The age grouping seemed to change from the program we originally signed up for, which was 13-16. In fact, the group attending included children from less than 10 years old to 17, from grades 4-11. Programming is difficult for this wide span of ages. Why was there no representative specifically from Road Scholar on site, as there always has been in the past for these programs? In previous programs, we were furnished with a list of participants and their home states. A map of the facility would have been helpful as we tended to wander around looking for the next activity. The tour of the Beechcraft plant was interesting, but it was impossible to hear the guide with all the normal noise inside the plant. Headsets would have made this tour much more meaningful. Somehow, the scheduled 2-hour visit at the Wells Aviation where the young people had an opportunity to fly a small airplane was reduced to about 1 1/2 hours. Again, the program content was great. Better logistics (which we expect from Road Scholar) would have improved the experience.

Any child interested in aeronautics or space will love this program. It is very much a hands on experience. It makes you think outside the box, very educational for young and old!

This program is great for children with an interest in aeronautics! The Cosmosphere is a wonderful facility with an opportunity to prepare for a simulated space launch. It also has a great museum, planetarium, IMAX theater, etc. My grandson's highlight was to have a hands-on experience of flying a small airplane. We had interesting field trips to see production of Beechcraft airplanes, flight training school, and a salt mine.
