The plays were wonderful. The behind the scenes classes were great. It was really wonderful getting a tour of the costume shop. Ashland is a really cute town with great shopping. The Ashland Springs Hotel was just wonderful.

This was a terrific program and helped me get much more from attending the plays than I would have gotten if I'd just "gone to the theater". Highly recommended!

The Road Scholar Shakespeare program in Ashland, Or was fun, exciting, educational and most enjoyable. My wife and I met new and interesting people and say new and beautiful places. The play, the town, the entire program was wonderful.

Great location and lovely hotel. The quality of the plays and the actors is extremely high, and it is a delight to get to know a few of the actors in the classroom. Good food and wine adds to the overall experience.

This program emphasized theater; food was an afterthought, and Ashland's best restaurants were not visited. Our hotel was excellent, and also had a fine dining room. The group attended three plays, all very different from each other. Ashland is a good little shopping town, too, so I made time for that -- enjoyably.

If you love theater and want to know the "skinny" on acting and the business at the Ashland Shakespeare Festival, you'll enjoy this trip.

Theatrical program was outstanding with wonderful access to top actors. The program is 95% about theatre.

Great theatre and general introduction to the wine country and cuisine offerings of the Ashland area.

As a theater major with an BFA/MFA in theater, I especially enjoyed the theater portion of Theatre, Food, and Wine in Ashland. The whole program was most enjoyable and informative.... perhaps with the exception of a trip to a farm...which didn't seem to go over well with many of the participants. Most of us had seen "chickens" before. :-) Our program leader, Annette Buchanan, did a wonderful job of bringing us all together and she became friends with all of us as well. It was a good group of all highly intelligent and interesting people. Loved the hotel and staff! Great treat to spend a week in a hotel that was built the same year I was born. Ashland is definitely on my list for a return trip as is Road Scholar. The plays were well acted; however, "Two Gentlemen of Verona" didn't deliver what it promised. "The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window" will forever remain difficult and uneven in its presentation, although this was the best production I'd seen. "The Cocoanuts" was perfection and fun. Mark Bedard performed brilliantly. All is all, it was a great week...if I live long enough, you can expect me back. :-)

This is a great program as it lives up to its name---Theatre, Food, and Wine! Ashland is an attractive tourist town and the location of the hotel can't be beat! Wish they would offer the program for those who want the program and hotel, but are willing to do their own meal plan in the many nearby cafes. I would choose the hotel continental breakfast (included with room), plus one meal and one snack on my own.
