Kris and I had a wonderful time on the Boston tour earlier this month. As those of you on the trip know, I took many photos and videos. I’ve placed the best ones into a hybrid video with slides, movie clips, music , and sound effects. We hope you will enjoy watching it and reliving the trip. The movie and photos can best be seen on my Smugmug site at http://www.panoramabob.com/RoadScholarAdventures/Boston-2015 The video alone is also on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej1kxHqHOW4 Travel and enjoy, Bob and Kris

What a great six days I had! The mix of activities made it so interesting. Boston is a beautiful city with such historical significance. Joan was so helpful in getting us around. Loved the walk home from Fenway Park!

What a wonderful trip to a very historic city. Joan, our guide, was very knowledgeable and organized. The trip mixed culture with history: 1. Museum of Fine Arts; 2. Isabel Stewart Gardiner Museum; 3. Tour of Fenway Park; 4. Attended a Red Sox game; 5. Trinity Church; 6. Charles River boat cruise; 7. Historic Old North Church; 8. JFK Museum; 9. A short walk along the Freedom Trail. We had dinners at: Rock Bottom (a restaurant/microbrewery, Cheers (remember the TV show?), Solas (an Irish brew/pub) and Maggianos (an Italian restaurant). Our guest lecturers included an Art historian (before the visits to the art museums) and history expert on JFK (before the visit to JFK Museum). In addition, we got to ride Boston's subway to several locations (interesting, especially during rush hour - sardines have more room in their tins but it wasn't unpleasant; many nice people gave up their seats for some of us.). BTW, the Fenway tour/game sub'ed for a tour of the Boston Symphony who were out of town. I think the only possible thing to make it even more interesting would have been a spiel by someone from RS headquarters (who are located just a few miles away).

Good introduction and overview of Boston. Activity level consistent with active category. Loved the Fenway Park tour and winning Red Sox game!

Boston in autumn is a wonderful time to visit. The colors of the trees, the excitement of new college students, the history of the city given in local costume, the museums are not crowded and walking through the streets and parks is enjoyable.

Some of the walking was difficult, be sure you are up to the activity level.

What a treat! Learned a lot about the Boston area; the tour of JFK library was powerful, hearing his voice again and seeing photos of the first family. The visits to both art museums & the symphony were a joy. I want to go back!

The program offered such diverse things to do JFK museum, Water tour, State houses, behind the scenes at the Boston Pops and then a great concert. But each restaurant was wonderful, I think of food when i think of Boston now. Joan led us with great care to all of the many things we did each day and staying across form the Commons was ideal. Great trip, I may just do it again
