It's wonderful to have expert help when you are exploring a place you've never been before. "The Queen City" program exposes you to downtown Buffalo, including several rides on the "Metro", the convenient downtown mass transit. A expertly led walking tour covered lots of in-town sights. My favorites included St. Paul's Cathedral, Shea's Performing Arts Center (it has a Tiffany-designed interior), Louis Sullivan's Guaranty Building and City Hall (the view from the tower is wonderful). A bus tour took us out of the downtown area and included viewing several Frank Lloyd Wright designed houses, with a guided tour of the Darwin Martin House, which is being restored. The tour gave us glimpses of Frederick Law Olmstead's extensive park system. The final day was spent at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery viewing their spectacular collection of modern art. Accomodations were very nice and we ate at a nice variety of restaurants for lunch and dinner. This program could be expanded to a full length program; Buffalo has more than enough to offer to fill additional days with wonderful sights and experiences.

"The view from the observation deck of the Buffalo City Hall really helps you appreciate the city's unique position on Lake Erie and the Niagara River. The Art Deco building is one of Buffalo's gems." Uploaded By: Julie
