We kayaked 3 beautiful Florida Rivers, that are fed by underground springs. Wild Florida at its finest! Also visited Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park, which is always a treat as well as The Crystal River Archeological Museum. The program had a lot of free time and would have benefitted from more educational programs, especially in the evenings after dinner.

Overall a nice trip on 3 Florida rivers. Good accommodations and food. Great guide. Some of the equipment needs replacement. No lectures off the water beyond the introduction.

Delightful time paddling three pristine crystal clear spring fed rivers. Photos added today were all from the kayak.

On these spring-fed rivers we saw (at different times) alligators, manatees, monkeys, and many birds. Kayak provider Lars Andersen was an exceptional guide. It was great, and much appreciated, that all the kayaks were "singles". Two of the rivers were moderate half-day excursions; the third was a little more challenging only because we were out for a longer time. There was quite a lot of free time on this trip, to enjoy the upscale resort or explore the area on our own. Perhaps in the future this enjoyable trip will offer more variety and quality of food.

Kayaking on three beautiful rivers was enjoyable and interesting. The paddling was not difficult and the support given was excellent. We saw many manatees and a variety of birds. Our guide was knowledgeable and our leader was eager to please. The visit to the wildlife park was good, but there could have been a kayaking trip planned for that day as well. It was not an active day. The accommodations at the Plantation Resort were quite lovely - more upscale than other RS trips. Although we don't go to RS activities for the food, the meals left much to be desired. The breakfast was the same each day - eggs, bacon or sausage and fried potatoes. Many of us would have preferred healthier options. I would suggest that the participants prepare their own bag lunches,at breakfast time, rather than the leader making the sandwiches himself. The dinners were adequate, but it would have been more interesting to go to local restaurants, as we have done on previous RS trips. Overall, it was a fine program, which we were glad to have attended.

This is a trip for outdoor lovers who want close-up experiences with semi-tropical flora & fauna, and the pleasure or kayaking sparkling waters from their source in crystal springs. Our guide knew the rivers like the back of his hand, and shared his enthusiasm and expertise unsparingly. Our leaders were fully engaged and sought out every opportunity to connect with each participant. We enjoyed the picnics which alternated make-it-yourself sandwiches and salads using a healthy variety of ingredients. And the great bonus was to share the experience with a spirited group of like-minded, warm and inclusive people. Meanwhile, the kayaking was invigorating, but not over-demanding.

This was an enjoyable program with three different rivers on which we kayaked. The rivers are very pretty and everyone seemed to enjoy kayaking on them. Plantation Golf Resort was very nice despite some negative reviews on Trip Advisor. The description we received from RS was somewhat different from the description the leader handed out. For example, the RS description indicated we would be having seveal dinners locally which never happened. It would have been nice to have sampled the local food instead of the two choices we had every night which were served in the meeting room. Also, leader made all our lunches in his room which I don't think is the best idea. We had no choice regarding what type of sandwich we wanted. This presented somewhat of a problem for people with certain religious beliefs. Every breakfast was the same...scrambled eggs, potatoes and bacon. There was no yogurt, cereal or any healthy choices. The size of the group was good. There were 16 people and I don't think anymore would be advisable. There were no evening activities planned. It would have been nice if a speaker or two was available. Or, even some local music.
