Peter and Len, of Mountains and Plains, program #4819 was informative, well planned and quite satisfying. The food, the lodging, the awesome hiking experiences, the comradery all combined to make this an extremely satisfying experience.

A great trip! Yes, it was rainy, but our guides (Peter, Len, and Pat) made good trail choices and kept us moving! The Alpine Trail Ridge Inn provided clean, comfortable accommodations and what a great location for access to the National Park! We learned a lot about the history and geology of this glorious area and shared the experience with a great group of hikers.

I just returned from Estes Park and hiking for four days. Even with the rain, the hiking and scenery were incredibly rewarding. We had a great group of hikers and excellent guides. My only complaint that's worth mentioning is that the trip was not long enough!

Excellent, exciting week hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. Thank you, Peter,Len and Pat for adjusting to weather and keeping us all together and challenged. I am very glad I went a few days early to adjust to elevation. It took me several days to feel 100 percent ready for 8 mile hikes. I avoided rental car expense by using shuttles and walking. Store, restaurants, brew pub, laundry and shuttles were all close to the Alpine Trail Ridge Inn. It was an easy 1/2 mile walk up a side road to the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center in the park where you could catch the hiker shuttle into the park. I enjoyed taking two Rocky Mountain Conservancy classes on the days before our program, a bird walk and a sunset tour along Trail Ridge Road. By going a few days early, I had time to go on the Estes Park historic walk, see the film at the Park Theatre about the 100th year anniversary of the Park, see the Stanley Hotel and the Estes Park museum.

Good leaders, good hikes and a good group of hikers to share the scenery, talk, laughs and experiences with. You couldn't ask for more.

A fantastic trip with excellent leadership. Len and Peter know the area and are full of useful insights. Because Rocky Mountain National Park is prone to afternoon thunderstorms and hordes of people all day seeking parking spots, note that each day begins very early in the morning in order to avoid those problems.
