This bike adventure is challenging more for endurance than physical strength or biking skills. I'm glad a prepared for it with several weeks of biking longer distances. The result was a very enjoyable experience that has whetted my appetite for more Road Scholar bike programs.

Wonderful trip. Program Director and support staff are terrific. If you like biking and being outdoors, this trip definitely is for you.

This trip exceeded our expectations. The support staff/guides were personable and competent. Although there were more mechanical problems with the bicycles than there should have been, each breakdown was well-handled in a manner to cause the least inconvenience to the participants. The accommodations at Shepherds Springs were excellent. The night at the Super 8 was, at best, barely OK. We were fortunate to have excellent weather the entire trip. The scenery is gorgeous. Unfortunately, we were not able to look around as much as we would have liked while riding as the bike path is so rough that it is necessary to keep a constant lookout for rocks, roots, branches and mud. If you are accustomed to road biking, keep in mind that riding on a dirt and gravel path is significantly more challenging. We had a great ride every day and enjoyed getting to know the other participants.

Great trip but be prepared for a rough ride. Pretty flat ... the Level 7 rating due to the surface. The tow path was rough at times. Hybrids were necessary. Amazing history and sites. Accomodations were good and food was great. It helped to have perfect weather! On our own we stopped at Gettysburg. So much history in that area...
