This was a wonderful program, enhanced by beautiful springtime weather. The Westin Resort is a great location to stay if you are visiting the old town. Bridget Gallagher was an excellent leader for the program, especially since she knew the right guides to pick at each tour site. If you haven't been to Key West, this program will certainly give you a complete introduction.

The Key West Program is great. So much history in Key West, and you see and learn a lot. The Westin Hotel is at a great location, and the hotel and food were excellent.

This was my first trip with RS. It was great, the lectures were in depth, the group members were fun, great value. And key west is gorgeous.

Just visiting Key West is an amazing experience but participating in this Road Scholar adventure with all the extras made it even more appealing. Bridget Gallagher, our leader, was FFF - Fun,Fabulous, Fantastic. She was enthusiastic, caring and on top of everything. You could tell she loved being a group leader. The Hyatt Resort was in a great location for walking the town and the rooms were very, very nice. The lunches and dinner served at the Hyatt were average; breakfast was above average, but the restaurants we ate at in town (included in the price) were top notch. The Strip House, El Meson de Pepe & Kelly’s were excellent. The Mel Fisher Maritime Museum and Tennessee Williams exhibit were my two favorite museums. All the lectures were outstanding. This was one of my favorite Road Scholar trips and I would give it a high recommendation.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed Key West. Our program was led by Bridget Gallagher who did an outstanding job. We had a perfect blend of activities and free time. We enjoyed visiting Truman's "Little White House," the Hemingway House, the Tennessee Williams exhibit, the old courthouse which houses the art and history museum, the Mel Fisher Museum, and the Audubon House. Ray led us on a lovely walk through Old Town, Bob prepared us well for the Truman site, Alex the Diver gave a very entertaining presentation about his years spent diving and collecting artifacts from the Keys, and Juan gave us an insightful talk on Cuban-American relations. Dinner at the colorful and folksy Cuban restaurant El Meson de Pepe was great and so was the Cuban dance group that provided after dinner entertainment. We even had the chance to learn salsa!

I enjoyed the walk, and sometime ride, through Old Key West. I learned and enjoyed. Looking forward to the next Road Scholar adventure!

Key West Kaleidoscope was my first experience with Road Scholar; and what a wonderful trip it was---with relevant lectures, tours of ALL the Key West highlights, beautiful accommodations, great dining variety, super-fun guide (thank you Bridget)and a great photographer (thank you Brian). I came home wondering how I'm ever going to read, reread or see all the books, plays and movies of Tennessee Williams and Hemingway. And, of course, I met wonderful, interesting and fun fellow travelers!

Road Scholar rocks! I thoroughly enjoyed this tour of Key West. Lectures and tours were informative - so much to see and do on this charming and picturesque island. I have two additional Road Scholar trips booked and I look forward to these journeys.

This was my first Road Scholar trip and initially I was wondering if the experience would be worth the cost to me and my wife. We were blown away!! It so exceeded my expectations that we can't wait until we get an opportunity to go on another trip. We were able to experience things that we would never have been exposed to on our own. I heartily recommend Road Scholar to anyone.

Key West is a charming, crowded, noisy, exciting, magical, historically rich city like no other in the country, full of people with interesting lives and stories.

This program would not be at the top of my Elderhostel experiences, but it would be in the top ten or so.

This was a lovely week in a warm setting during a very cold winter. We were able to see many of the historical sites and learn about numerous well known people who made Key West their home. There was a good combination of walking about seeing things and lecture time. We saw there was so much more to the island than bars and restaurants. Our group leader Bridget did and excellent job planning for everyone. I would recommend this to a friend.

Kathleen from Latrobe, PA Number of programs attended: 9

Bridget's enthusiasm and love of Key West enhanced my visit to Key West. This was a well-balanced program with lots of variety in learning experiences and plenty of time to pursue individual tastes in food and fun. The Crowne Plaza La Concha was luxurious and ideally located.

Diane and I really enjoyed our venture in and around Key West. We had excellent weather, in the mid 70's and only one rainy afternoon & evening. Accommodations were excellent and hotel staff were all very accommodating. Jennifer Powell, our Group Leader was just super. All of the speakers were top notch and there was a nice blend of free time and structured activities. We met some very interesting fellow travelers. The group blended quite well and we all had a good time. The material provided was quite adequate and very helpful. All in all, a very enjoyable event. Paul Sammelwitz

What a wonderful introduction to the Road Scholar trips! My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the rest of the Road Scholar travelers. It was an educational, entertaining, and exciting trip. I was so happy with the organization and our leader that I am now going to book my trip to China with Road Scholar!!!

We were enormously pleased with the variety of events and speakers planned for us at the Old Town Key West program. Hotel accommodations were good in spite of recent and on-going renovations. Bridget Gallagher was an enthusiastic and well-organized leader. John and Sylvia Talmage

Excellent program, great history, highly recommended, Jennifer was an excellent leader. Only downside - too many attendees. Actually, there were 37 in attendance and, by my standards as a trip leader for other venues, that is about 12 too many. I recommend that walking trips of this nature be limited to no more than 25. We had a great group but the number of attendees made several events difficult.

Just returned from a fabulous trip to Key west. What a fun group of Roadscholars! Everyone was friendly and seemed to enjoy meeting new people. Key West has so much to offer but be prepared to walk a lot in very, very hot muggy weather! I left New York (-1degree)and arrived in key West unprepared for 80. Despite sweltering in my corduroys, I had a great time. Another item crossed off my Bucket List.

We loved our first experience with Road Scholar -- Old Town Key West. Our leader, Bridget, was excellent, and we learned and experienced more than we'd hoped. Good pace and good people, all helped along with innovative hearing devices. Beautiful memories. Thank you!

Key West is much more than Duval St and a tropical drink. Come and see some of the depth of the island and the people who live (and have lived) there.

I always use the website to search for my next trip. The large booklets you mail me are not as informative as the website. I love the trips that include air fare and that is easily found on the website.
