This hiking trip was so much more than I expected. Utah is the most beautiful state that I've seen - it is beauty beyond belief. I went with my sister & friends - I came back so excited that my husband now wants to go back with me. I want to go back & do some of the hikes over at a more leisurely pace & there's so much more to see!

Wonderful program!! Utah is gorgeous and the hikes were spectacular. We live in North Carolina where the geology is covered with green... In Utah it's in your face and fantastic!!!

We had a wonderful trip. Darrell and Paula were a great team as instructor and coordinator. We learned a lot about geology and history and had a lot of laughs. Great group. Interesting hikes. Some scrambling was required for the first couple of days because of the federal shutdown but the governor of Utah came through by opening Utah's parks. Recommend highly. No complaints.

This was my 8th and my husband's first Road Scholar trip. We both enjoyed it thoroughly. The hikes were fairly challenging and scenery stunning. Eldon's geology information made the rocks come alive. I was very glad our group numbered only 22 as I heard there may be 40 or more. Accommodations and transportation were just fine. Great trip!

Darrell McMahon, the program leader, exhibits a depth of understanding, gratitude, and concern for the participants on the trip and for the quality of life on our planet. He relishes sharing his vast knowledge of geology, plants, birds, critters, the Anasazi, the history of the area and towns we traveled through in a clever and often humorous way. His teaching methods were varied and his patience with answering the same questions repeatedly was exemplary. He shared his personal experiences with the area to give us a taste of what it's like to make Utah "home". He made it come alive for us. Thanks Darrell and Road Scholar for the in depth travel experience of a life time.
