Easy
For people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
Moderate
These programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
Active
For people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately Challenging
For hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
Challenging
Get ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

some of your questions and statements had little to do with a foreign film festival. I've been to a number of these, seen some excellent films and poor ones. This web site has little to do with a film festival. Unfortunately, the weather in Palm Springs this year was terrible, compared to past years.

Our first Palm Springs International Film Festival - we attended at the sugggestion by a Road Scholar member from a previous Road Scholar trip in 2012, and we were not disappointed. We didn't know what to expect, but were happily surprised and enjoyed most of the movies and especially the discussion by the moderators afterwards in small groups. But, especially, meeting wonderful fellow Road Scholar participants, which, I believe is the most enjoyable part of the Road Scholar programs.

We found it be a fascinating program, the movies quite diverse and moslty well done,a couple of duds here and there but mostingenious of all peoples culture,
Everything moved along and was well organized, thought the choices good for the age group, not to proody.
Hate the name CELS, sounds like Jail! Susan Reiss

This was our 4th Palm Springs Int'l Film Festival. The films this year did not measure up to the quality in the past three. We stayed at the Saguaro hotel and liked it. It was spanking new with cheery colors, well=appointed, clean, and convenient. CELS catered the meals in: one dinner and 5 breakfasts. They were poor. Little variety for breakfast and items ran out and were not replenished. Dinner had pretty bad fish and some meat dish that ran out and was not replenished.Bag lunches by Aspen Mills bakery were not as good as previous years. First two days we had sandwiches with some sort of green slime in the filling (avocado?)Had the same crew of critics running the review sessions. Thet were excellent again. We will probably return, but hope someone deals with the shortcomings.

We always look forward to this film festival as the films and subsequent critiques make us think and learn about other cultures. This year's selections were not on par with what we have seen before. For me, English Vinglish, 4some, and Little World made the whole trip worth it. The Ingleside Inn did not live up to its reputation, but it's interesting history made us glad we tried it for one year.

I had a wonderful time at the film festival and thought CELS did a very good job organizing and taking care of us. With so many great films to choose from, I think a couple of the selections chosen for our program could have been better. However, I plan to return another year.

The Palm Springs International Film Festival is a great destination for January ! Its well organized and fun. Its so exciting to be with so many people that love movies as much as I do. I am definitely going to try to organize friends to go with me next year.

Our Road Scholar experience to participate in the Palm Spring International Film Festival is an event we look forward to each year. It is so interesting to view films from other countries that express diverse culture, scenery, and ingredients to get a better idea of what exists in other countries. This event is truly very worthwhile and enjoyable. Thank you for offering this program annually.

I enjoy movies and this festival of movies that we'll not get a chance to see in the U.S. is special and very satisfying I('ve been attending for several of the sixteen or seventeen years and I've never been disappointed. The CELS staff has done a super job and deserves plaudits!

This program is an easy way to visit the festival, view quality films, and discuss them with experienced moderators in small groups. You can sign up and pay a modest fee to see other films (nine viewings are included in the program) but this was a bit of added hassle, we thought. We stayed at Ingleside Inn which we recommend for old-California ambience and pretty good food; the other accommodations appeared to be nice-quality but available-anywhere chains.
Because there are 400+ participants in this highly organized program, don't look for the usual small-group comraderie experience. Our hotel-based leader, Mary Barrie, was helpful, friendly, and well-informed.
