Now, that was a Road Scholar program- one of the best. From the accommodations at an upscale hotel on Bourbon Street, to the great teaching and playing sessions by four of the top bands in the area, to the wonderful meals at some of the top restaurants, it was superb. A memorable program.

The website does not do justice to the VERY high quality of most of the musician-teachers e.g. Michael White and Tom Fischer

This program exceeded my expectations. Amazing music, wonderful accommodations, food and people. Road Scholar knows how to show you the best of everything. I love music and now I love New Orleans!

The was a wonderful program as discussed by other reviewers. Some reviewers have mentioned that there is a lot of walking. Since I have mobility problems, I followed the recommendation of the program organizers and rented a motorized scooter. I was able to attend everything. I hope to attend this program again. It is great fun!

Great Program and I learned a lot about Jazz.

Laurie from Chula Vista, CA Number of programs attended: 4

If you love jazz and are comfortable walking long distances in rather drunken crowds, this program is for you. Unlike most RS programs this does not emphasize education or group activities, as you are on your own at most times. The variety and quality of jazz available is terrific, and we had a lovely hotel in the heart of the French Quarter. As a downside, that hotel is on Bourbon St., the heart of the quarter.... Be aware it can be cool and a jacket can be needed. Very interesting participants , good music and delicious food.

Winnie from Vero Beach, FL Number of programs attended: 26
Date attended: 04/09/14 - 04/14/14
As usual, I had great expectations of a RS trip to NOLA and they were exceeded! If I had not been jazz lover before, I would have surely become one. It is impossible not to be happy listening to the music, eating the wonderful food, and being the recipient of wonderful Southern Hospitality right smack-dab in the middle of the French Quarter.

Ron from Edina, MN Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 04/09/14 - 04/14/14
This was the our first RS program and it was a wonderful way to experience one of the most popular programs. A really good value with excellent accomodations, good food, and great opportunity to hear wonderful music. Morning "classes" with performing musicians were a real highlight of the trip and made it special.
