The program really lets you experience the culture of the Cajuns and you got to visit beautiful wildlife areas that you might not otherwise get to. We got to see alligators and wild birds in their natural habitat. We ate lots of good food and heard great Cajun music.

I have read much about Cajuns and their unique culture, and had wanted to visit the Louisiana bayou country for years. This program gave me a wonderful, in-person look at that culture, and its people, music, food and the wildlife that is so much a part of their lives.

This was my first Road Scholar program and it was a great experience. Our group leader, Patti, was fun and knowledgable, the instructors were were passionate and gave interesting lectues, the field trips gave me a great introduction for the Cajun country including their wildlife and music. I loved seeing their different birds as well as their alligators in the peaceful beautiful bayous and listening and dancing to their music. These people are exceptionally friendly and passionate about their history! Our group was small which I also appreciated. I definitely recommend this trip! After this trip I did the Signature City tour and between both of these I now have a better understanding of Louisiana, a truly different world from my state of Montana.

You learn interesting things you never knew you didn't know, through eating and dancing Cajun, visiting the Cajun swamps and other environments, and well presented lectures. You would never figure it out on your own.

Nice balance of insight into the unique culture and ecology of Cajun Country. Great coordinator. First class instructors and field guides. Decent accommodation. Fab food. Highlights for me were the live music and dance sessions and the Lake Martin field excursion through the swamp.
