Road Scholar
Program #4352RJ
9 Days | 8 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

The "four gems" are, needless to say, geologically fascinating and beautiful, as expected. But I was not prepared for the meaningful experience at Manzanar, and the fun time in Lone Pine, its movie museum, and the nearby Alabama Hills, site of so many Saturday afternoon cowboy flicks, not to mention "Gunga Din".

This was my 4th Road Scholar trip to US National Parks and once again is highly recommended. Scenery is beautiful and varied, lot of interesting history, and great adventure. Thanks to our tour guide and bus driver for a job well done.

The Four Jewels: Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Yosemite and Death Valley National Parks was the best trip I have ever taken. It had adventure, learning, scenery beyond belief, and never a dull moment.

This is a super program.. not very active at all.. walking through gorgeous woods and rocks.. I guess there are vigorous sections of rocks. But(our so knowledgeable (and funny) guide), made it perfect.

This was one of the best (of 4) RS trips we have taken. Gorgeous scenery, good accommodations, excellent guide (Jeff Crow). The very best way to do one's first visit to these national parks. Frederick from Tucson

This trip is a wonderful introduction to these four National Parks, plus Mono Lake, Manzanar, and Lone Pine/Alabama Hills. If you've never been, this is a great way to see them and perhaps discover where you might want to spend more time on another trip. What a great road trip! (We logged over 1400 miles.)

Mary Jo from Oneida, NY Number of programs attended: 2

You won't regret choosing this program! Even if you have visited some of these sites before, you'll gain a new perspective. Well organized, thorough, fun, beautiful. I actually hated to see the trip end!
