While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

This was my first trip with Road Scholar and it has set a high standard. I loved everything about it! The accomodations and food were great! Each of our field trips to farms and ranches were well planned and I was impressed by the interpretive skills of the farmers! My group was really nice, our leader John, kept us on schedule and had lots of interesting insights. I will definitely do another trip! Thank you!

Shelle from Honolulu Number of programs attended: 5 Date attended: 03/25/12 - 3/30/12 At the risk of repeating everything that has already been written, I'd give this program a 10+ (with 5 being the highest)! Barry and I had a great time with this group of participants. John, our group leader, was terrific. It was wonderful meeting the instructors where they live/work their passion: in the fields, in an art studio, etc. Going to the food bank was a highlight for me. The enthusiasm of this instructor particularly spoke to me enough so that I plan to return home and volunteer in our local bank. Who knew that packing cucumbers could be so inspiring!!

Pat from Aptos, CA Number of programs attended: 33
Date attended: 03/25/12 - 03/30/12
It was our 33rd Elderhostel,Exploritas, Road Scholar and one of the best yet. Walking among pixie tangerines and acres of gerbera daisies was a thrill that most people do not get to experience.

Sue from Thunder Bay, ON Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 03/25/12 - 03/30/12
Gerry and I are from a farm 300 miles north of Minneapolis/St Paul and we learned so much about the agriculture and food and people and history about Central California by attending this program. We had a great time with the group, every person had such an interesting story to tell. A very memoarble experience! Thank you to Road Scholar!

Barbara from Sherman Oaks, CA Number of programs attended: 11
Date attended: 03/25/12 - 03/30/12
A wonderful program! A great combination of farmers and growers -- conventional and organic -- as well as packers and processors and users of agricultural products from Ventura County. Whether you come from a farm family, are someone concerned about what is in the food we eat, who serves the impoverished, or you just like to eat, this program is for you. You will visit facilities you can't get into on your own In addition, you can hear the Pacific waves lapping at the shore when you go to bed and wake up in the morning.

Naomi from Westlake Vlg, CA Number of programs attended: 21
Date attended: 03/25/12 - 03/30/12
From Fields to Fridge was an educational program beyond my expectations! It was truly interactive with an outstanding group leader and three or four different agricultural activities each day. Naomi Finkel, Westlake Viilage, CA
