3 rails to trails rides on mostly hard packed covered with blue stone and 1 road ride with a lot of short and, sometimes, steep hills. Rides ranged 16-24 miles. Thankfully, the longest trail was on a flat trail that followed a river DOWNhill. Beautiful scenery on every ride. Good program for those who normally ride 5-8 times a summer, 8-25 miles each. The two primary leaders, Cindy and Scott, provided everything you could want with lots of smiles and humor. Other "leaders" provided trail support, an historic view of the area, and an owl and nature (evening) walk. All were a joy to be with. The historic Inn is well-maintained with cozy public areas and comfy beds in well-appointed rooms with private baths. The meals had various choices and were delicious. I recommend the program, the program leaders, the inn and all the staff at the inn very highly.

The Shawnee Biking experience combined historic and beautiful lodging with a great biking experience. The country side had just gone to full foliage and the rides followed streams and beautiful country settings. A wonderful experience. The staff and participants couldn't have been any better.

This was my first Road Scholar adventure. It was great! I'd recommend this to any one who loves to bike. I was warmly welcomed and all my apprehensions about going somewhere alone were put to rest immediately. Scott is an amazing leader.

Beautiful bike rides, interesting activities and gracious accommodations. Scott and crew were outstanding in managing and transporting the riders and their bikes. I enjoyed the naturalist and yoga programs and last but not least, the food was excellent.

Just an awesome program. Great riding trails, activities and camaderie. On the go from 7 am to 9 pm each day. Very nice accomodations. Don't miss it.

Scott was one of the best leaders of any program I've attended. He did a great job of including everyone. There was a good variety in the trails; they challenged my ability and I met the challenge! Looking forward to my next Road Scholar trip in the spring.

We have done 3 bike trips and were very disappointed in the organization of this one. We were late numerous days in leaving and it took longer than represented to get to our biking start. The accomodations are wonderful and food incredible. We enjoyed the actual rides, but we just didn't have the same experience we had on our previous bike trips. I hope they will improve that part because it could be a very enjoyable trip.

Road Scholar's response:
We are glad to hear that the bike rides, food, and accommodations were enjoyable and greatly appreciate the feedback about your experience. Your comments about the delays are certainly fair and have been forwarded to the program managers so we can make improvements the next time the program is offered.
