Very organized trip.The staff was wonderful and did everything they could to make this a good experience. The weather was very uncooperative but the staff was very enthusiastic and made the most of the situation.

I don't usually write reviews but I felt I had to because of the positive experience I've just had. Just returned home after attending a delightful Program titled Birding VA's Eastern Shore: Assateague, Chincoteague and Wallops Island. I have been visiting Chincoteague and Eastern Shore for a number of years on my own and with birding clubs but decided to attend this program hoping to discover new areas my birding group or I don't usually get to cover. The program exceeded my expectations as we covered areas that are normally not open to general public. Yes, you will get to visit the Chincoteague NWR but also the wash flats via service road where you will encounter many shorebirds and more. You will also be treated to fabulous views of the water and the birds while cruising on one of the MSC's boat. As a MSC's guest, you will have access to the peaceful beach in Wallops Island. You will be driven to choice birding destinations such as Pocomoke SP which was very appropriate and highly productive for migrating warblers. What made this program was the program leaders who were very knowledgeable about birds and NATURE in general and were very patient and eager to share and teach. These leaders accommodated each participant's different level of knowlege on the subject with patience and grace. It must be mentioned here that the food/meal experiences were the best I've experienced with Road Scholar programs, to date! The quality of food and the various ways they were served as in dining hall, local restaurants (good restaurdants, not dives)and freshly grilled burgers served on picnic tables at the park will make you want to repeat the program just for this enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this program to anyone who is interested in birds, outdoor and nature.
