My first experience with Road Scholar tours was beyond what I expected. I had the best time visiting and learning about it all. I was so exhilarated that when I returned I reopened this blog just so I could share it even if it's just with a few people. Our tour guide Robin O'Malley was knowledgeable, professional and congenial. Jeff Nichols, our driver was just as friendly. They both intermingled with everyone, having dinner, answering questions making the excursion a delight.

Very interesting trip but too busy. Lecture were sometimes brief and no chance to stay at hotel and relax if something didn't appeal to you. Lobster lecture was GREAT.

We would highly recommend the Lobsters, Wineries, and Food tour. It was everything, and more than we expected. The programs, tour guide, accommodation, and food were all exceptional. We are still on a high about the trip, and continue to tell people about the great experience.

The Lobsters, Wineries and Foods of New England trip on October 4-10, 2015 met all my expectations. So nice to have Road Scholar take care of every detail. 36 people were on this trip, everyone was friendly, accommodations for all of us were great. Robin was a wonderful program leader. The trees in Vermont were in their full color of glory. I would recommend this trip to anyone who hasn't seen New England in the fall. Barbara Bergonz, Littleton, CO.

I've always wanted to take a Road Scholar trip. I probably first heard about Elder Hostel back in the 1970s. The trip was delightful, met and exceeded all my expectations.

This was my first Road Scholar trip and it exceeded my expectations. Experiencing the culinary best venues of five New England states was a truly memorable experience!

This trip will give you a wonderful introduction to New England. I learned a great deal about the people, foods and industries in New England--from lobster fishermen to the cider mill to a family whose passion is making goat cheese. We visited organic farms and wineries as well as a unique historic inn in Vermont. It is a fabulous trip, not to be missed. If you have time, go a day early and visit one or two of the Newport Mansions.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this trip. The leader and driver were phenomenal. The places we toured were all very interesting. The food we had and the places we stayed were all exceptional. We learned about things that we would not have thought to be interesting, yet they were. We both would highly recommend this program

The Lobsters and Winery Tour was just wonderful.. Tour Operator was young and knew exactly about everything we needed to know. Her sense of humor showed a lot and she was always bright and cheerful everyday. We also did extra little things in the tour that she thought would be interesting to us. She was extra kind to me(Im disabled) and even tho the last leg of my journey was quite painful, I did most everything and had a great group of people along with me that made everyday a delight. Also the Bus Driver was so full of knowledge and just a great man to have met.

We just got back from this 6 night trip and loved it mainly due to our leader, Robyn and the bus driver, Rob. Our group was very compatible and the places were wonderful esp. the lobster, Newport homes, wineries, organic garden, the mill & sugar shack, etc. Would really recommend it highly but be prepared for a long bus ride - over 800 miles altogether.

The program was just as described. This was our first trip. Exceeded expectations. Very organized on all levels. Variety of activities was excellent.

What a delightful week! Great instructors, good food, beautiful scenery and pleasant people to share it all with. A plus was the exceptional tour leader. We were glad we signed up for this one.

I truly enjoyed Lobsters, Wineries and Foods of New England. The talks were interesting, the food was good and the accommodations were satisfactory.. Enjoyed all the wine, sugar and seafood.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why this is a favorite. The food was mediocre, the wines were below average, and the accommodations were isolated. The scenery is lovely but, if that's what you want, take the Fall Foliage tour. The food, accommodations (though still isolated), and the outings were superior. I see a lot of folks who were new to Road Scholar thought this was good but we've been on several trips and were less than impressed with this one.

This was the first trip with you guys. I had a wonderful time. I made new friends. I was surprised I was able to keep up with the group. I was told I had to handle my own luggage, but I really didn't have to Corin was very helpful. Rob the bus driver went above and beyond to help me. I'm really happy I stepped out of my comfort zone and travel alone. It was worth it. I'm looking forward to my next trip. Everyone on this trip was very nice and kind to me. We had fun playing bingo, because I won three out of five games. I became the star of the trip, because I kept wining. Hi all my new friends.

Best we have ever experienced. Loved experiencing New England and the group we toured with. Our leader, Sharon Foehl was superb. We would love to recommend this Lobsters, Wineries and Foods of New England and will to everyone. Superb!

Wonderful food and sights to see. A lot of time on a bus and there was little free time, but the planned activities overall were wonderful and gave great highlights of the best of New England.

Lobsters, wineries and food of New England is exactly that....we were in food coma at the end of each day. The scenery was spectacular, as was the weather. Hint...if you can go into Newport a day or two early, so you can tour the mansions and enjoy Newport's waterfront. The bus tour included in our program whets your appetite for more! Wineries, breweries, and distilleries....organic farms, grist mill, lobster boat and lobster roast all tie everything together for a fun, tasty experience.

Sharon was an exceptionally good guide. The whole experience was great fun, great learning about places we had not seen before, and wonderful food and so much of it. The groups are small enough so one gets to connect with the participants and humor adds to the total fun experience. Well worth the adventure.

If you love good food (especially good seafood), the history behind that food, enjoyable and well-learned "fellow travelers" you will not be disappointed in this program. Our "navigator" Rob kept us safe in every way, our leader Sharon kept us settled and invigorated at the same time, and our meals were prepared by great chefs and pastry chefs. Our field trips and lectures were more entertaining than cumbersome. Do yourself a favor: sign up for this program and add flavor to your life.

The 'tastiest' Road Scholar program that I have attended and Sharon was one of the best Road Scholar program group leader that I have rubbed elbows with!

This was my first Road Scholar trip, and it was an excellent one to start with. The group was pleasant, the food was great (if almost too abundant!), and I was very glad to have gone. Expect to be BUSY from early morning until evening; the activities are all good, but there isn't a whole lot of free time...
