Program met every expectation. Watching orcas and humpback off the San Juans, seeing the scenery on Mt. Rainier and the superlative service of our group leader and bus driver made it a trip to remember!!

A most comprehensive and enjoyable experience to learn about the Pacific Northwest in one week. Excellent accommodations with hotels, meals and motor coach. Traveling down the Columbia River George and visits to Mr. Rainier and Mount St. Helens were "awesome", and side visits to a fish hatchery, the Yakima Indian Cultural Museum, Tacoma's Museum of Glass, Seattle's Pike Place Market and the Whale Museum in Friday Harbor were all well-timed and of interest. Learning about how the USA acquired the San Juan Islands with visits to the American and British camps was history brought alive. One of the best of the eight Road Scholar trips that we've taken.

This is really "On the Road." Be prepared to unpack and repack every day

This is a fast-paced trip and gives you a great over-view of some of the contrasting places in Oregon and Washington. From wilderness to big city, from river gorge to mountain top, from blown glass flowers to Douglas fir, from vistas of water and rocky shores to the destruction of land slide and volcano - it's all included and much more. I'm sure glad I went on this adventure.

Recommend this trip highly. Visited many beautiful sights, picnic lunches, whale watching, San Juan Island one of our favorites. Some long bus rides, but well worth it, and we had a great guide! Minnie and Joe, Barnegat, NJ

Excellent: 1) Oregon's highest waterfall, the amazing Multnomah Falls 2) Salmon hatchery 3) River cruise aboard a sternwheeler boat on the Columbia River 4) Paradise Inn at the timberline of Mt. Rainier 5) Lodging in Seattle - Roosevelt Hotel 6) whale watching 7) Lodging in San Juan Islands - Friday Harbor Suites 8) Mount St. Helens Negatives: 1) Eating in hotel meeting rooms - Absolutely no atmosphere or local flavor 2) Length of bus rides (not much to be done about that) 3) Bus driver could have assisted people off the bus. 4) Some snacks or waters on the long bus rides would have been nice too!!

Excellent adventure, but be prepared to spend quite a few hours on the bus. Lots of ground will be covered, all very interesting and quite unique. We truly enjoyed it, it was an easy holiday and well put together.

Overall, an excellent experience. Well planned itinerary covering the Columbia Gorge, Willamette Valley, Mt. Rainier, Tacoma, Seattle, San Juan Island, and Mt. St. Helens. Lengthy time on bus was unavoidable. Excellent presenters, and food/hotels which ranged from good to excellent. We've been on 17 programs, and this is among the top 5.

I don't think its appropriate to lump all speakers together with one overall adjective based on location.

Willie from Fresno, CA Number of programs attended: 32

This program fulfilled a life dream for me. The hotels were comfortable. We stayed at Mt Rainer Lodge which allowed us to take walks in the morning. It was interesting to get the story of Mt St Helen's and see the devastation it left. The San Juan Islands and the many whales we saw breeching, summer salting and playing in the water was exciting! Friday Harbor Suites in San Juan were spacious and comfortable. The catered food wss over the top! The museum of glass in Tacoma was interesting and seeing what they've done with the downtown area was encouraging.
