American history, unplugged! Great chance to get educated -- and dirty -- doing hands-on archaeology. Learned so much from our archaeologist on the ground, the classes, and the other enthusiastic participants. Wonderful course. Highly recommend.

I learned a lot from this program and also had a lot of fun. The people were friendly and enthusiastic about the work we were doing. The archeologist was amazing. I recommend this program to anyone interested in archeology and/or history.

Put this program on your "Bucket List"! It is so exciting to dig up and hold an artifact that has been lying in the ground since the earliest inhabitants walked here.

I will be recommending it to other people in our community. It was a very challenging and interesting program to help seniors learn and share with their descendants.

This was my first Road Scholar experience. I was able to fulfill one of my many "bucket list" items. If you like history and want to help re- discover it, try the archeological dig in Virginia. I'm looking forward to many more adventures.

This was an exciting program for anyone interested in the archeological history of the area. Participating in the digs, sifting for artifacts and learning little-known facts about the area from our own on-site archeologist was fascinating. The field trip to the area at Jamestown where artifacts are cleaned, stored and evaluated (not open to the public) was a real treat. Our class instructors provided great information about the history of the area, colonial and Indian, and our coordinator was spot-on in keeping things moving and organized. Great people to share the experience with made the week extra-nice. I will be definitely be attending again.

Erin from Albany, NY Number of programs attended: 15

This program is very good for anyone who is at all interested in participating in a "dig." It is paced well; with enough classroom presentations and side trips to other archeological sites which complemented the dig. Hope it is repeated.

This was a truly great experience. The interaction with all the other participants was most rewarding and I have learned so much about the history of the area. Absolutely a wonderful time!

We had a wonderful adventure learning so much about the issues faced by the early settlers in Jamestown and had a great time actually sifting through the past!

An outstanding learning experience with great staff. I forfilled a life long dream of doing a dig that confermed the historical record. Very satisfying!
