This was an excellent program with lots of diverse activities. The scenery was beautiful and we felt that we learned a lot about the area. We especially liked staying in one location for the 5 nights. I would definitely recommend it.

I found this trip to be enjoyable and enlightening. It was my first trip with Road Scholars and it will not be my last. Instead of just being a tourist and seeing sights, I got to learn about the area and its people. Because our guide was a local person, his personal stories about growing up in the area added to the program. He kept all of us on task without being a task master. Because I am a budding photographer, his willingness to share his knowledge of photography and tricks of getting good shots, etc., was a plus for me.

Another winner! Mason, our group leader, is amazing. He is a great storyteller and teacher, has a seemingly unlimited amount of knowledge, and makes material I used to think of as boring or difficult interesting and easy to understand. Having the lectures before the field trips made the experience more meaningful. I liked the variety of activities, and the unhurried pace, and the scenery is gorgeous.

This is a superb trip with a superb instructor. Mason Marsh is easy-going, relaxed, knowledgeable, and an excellent communicator. Every day was a pleasure and a learning experience. Evening lectures whetted my appetite to learn more geology and American history.

The southern Oregon coast is ruggedly beautiful and teaming with diverse vegetation and sea life. This was my first trip and I'm already looking forward to more.

If this program is indicative of the quality of all Road Scholar programs, I can't wait to experience another!

Our guide, Mason, was immensely knowledgeable about so many things - geology, history, boats, the sea, current events, birds, aquatic life..

Combine that with a warm, ready sense of humor, great story telling ability (Garrison Keillor watch out), spot-on analogies that made challenging concepts clear, and a desire to teach and you have a 'best of all possible worlds' program; enjoyed by men and women equally.

Each day brought a new adventure, laughter and insight. I can't say enough good things about the program - or about Mason who made it what it is.

Don't miss this one!
