ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

This is an outstanding program led by people who are experts in their fields and able to share their expertise with skill and humor. The varied program had much to offer about many aspects of flora, fauna, weather, lighthouses, and geology of the Oregon Coast.

This was my first Road Scholar program and I already want to sign up for more. The program, the leaders, and the participants were great. The information about geology, fisheries, meteorology, lighthouses, and marine mammals was all fascinating and extremely well-presented. I would sign up for more programs with all the presenters: Carol, Lynne, Joseph, and John. And, oh yes, the scenery and coastal area of Oregon is spectacular in both rain and sunshine.

Sheila from Sand Springs, OK Number of programs attended: 6
Date attended: 02/09/14 - 02/14/14
This was the 6th Road Scholar program I've attended, and each one has been better than the last ( actually tied with my last intergenerational program at Best Friends in Utah last year.) The leaders, Lynn and Carol Unser, ably asisted by Joseph Galbreath and John Ford, were exceptional. All four of them know the area and their subjects extremely well, and their love and enthusiasm for them both shone through the whole program. The lectures were great, accomodations excellent, field trips good, and the food outstanding - especially that 7-course breakfast! This one's a winner. (But don't expect to get a suntan!)

Martha from Georgetown, TX Number of programs attended: 4
Date attended: 02/09/14 - 02/14/14
I learned so much about the Oregon Coast, geology, and meteorology. The instructors were experts in their fields and their enthusiasm for all aspects of the program made it such a wonderful experience. We experience all sorts of Oregon weather, rainy and cool, but that just seemed to add to the experience. The ocean views from our rooms were spectacular. Highly recommend this program.

Joyce from Monument, CO Number of programs attended: 2
Date attended: 01/19/14 - 01/24/14
What a great experience this program was. The presenters where fantastic, the scenery phenomenal, the Adobe Resort is right on the ocean with beautiful views, comfortable beds, very clean and the food was excellent!
