EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

The Giants Spring Training trip was fantastic and we enjoyed almost every aspect. Our coordinators, Jack, Janet and Charlie were awesome. They seemed to really enjoy the program and the interactions with the participants. All of the presenters except the one on baseball films were excellent and we learned and laughed a great deal with them. We learned about the Cactus League from a journalist who also accompanied us through the entire program. He constantly added is expertise to the program which was very interesting and always presented with humor (Charlie Vascellero). We learned the ins and outs of scoring from the Diamondbacks official scorer (Rodney Johnson), we got up close and personal with the Diamondbacks organist (Bobby Freeman), a great presentation by the Giants pre-game and post-game broadcaster (Marty Lurie), insights and stories from a former MLB player (Lou Klimchock) and a real behind the scenes view from a former umpire who is now the Director of Major League Umpires (Randy Marsh). Awesome!! We visited 3 spring training stadiums. The Giants Scottsdale stadium is by far the worst. Seats are aluminum bench style and very uncomfortable. Goodyear Stadium (Cincinnati Reds) was the best. Seats were in the shade right behind home plate. Surprise Stadium (Texas Rangers) was very good. In both of these stadiums you can walk around and still view the game which is not possible at the Giants stadium. This is great if it is hot, you want to get something to eat or just get up to stretch your legs. The accommodations were at the Embassy Suites. Grounds were large which allowed you to walk around. Rooms were older but clean. We appreciated the extra sitting room although we didn't use it much. Breakfast was good - lots to choose from which is nice when you are staying for 5 nights. Program food was good and just to our taste. Overall, the trip was great and we enjoyed immensely. So much so that we have booked another trip in the fall.

There was an 'updated' version of our itinerary presented upon arrival. In the initial itinerary mailed to me, we were to meet a former and contemporary SF Giant player. That didn't happen... and that was disappointing.

Great speakers, great schedule, great games, great itinerary! Our first Road Scholar trip, and we enjoyed it. The only suggested improvement is to not schedule a day game in the Scottsdale stadium unless seats can be obtained in the shade. Way too hot for most participants.

I HAD A WONDERFUL TIME ON THIS BASEBALL TRIP. IT GAVE ME A CHANCE TO ROOT FOR MY FAVORITE TEAM AND GET A CLOSE AND MORE PERSONAL VIEW. ALL THE PARTICIPANTS WERE VERY KNOWLEDGABLE AND ENTHUSIASTIC. WE WERE LIKE OUR OWN ROOTING TEAM.

This was my first Road Scholar event and it was wonderful. I enjoyed every aspect of this trip. The speakers were great, the ball parks were nice (except or the last day when the heat was too much), and the tour of Chase Field was great. A great experience for any baseball fan.

Enjoyed every event we attended. I was very surprised that there was no collection to recognize the excellence of our bus drivers. My only complaint, my wife could not enjoy to the same degree due to physical problem negotiating stairs, heat and lengthy walks.

Except for the absolutely horrible Giants Scotsdale ball park, the program was superb. The Road Scholar staff was knowledgable, always helpful, and some like Charlie were so funny they should have their own show! The guest speakers were great. Imagine being able to ask questions of the retired head of major league umpires! Suggestions: Avoid scheduling games at Scotsdale, especially day games. Do everything else exactly the same.

For people interested in Baseball, the spring training programs (this is my 5th--2 in Tucson and 3 in Phoenix) give a wonderful appreciation of how important a part of Americana, Baseball is.
