Road Scholar
Program #10545RJ
4 Days | 3 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Easy
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Best of the Best of the 14 RoadScholar Programs I face taken! Pristine Atlantic Beach, wild horses, decadent ice cream, fantastic seafood, outstanding local folk music (by the ThreeSheets), a salty world-class decoy carver and salt water cowboy, a knowledgeable good old girl Wildlife Refuge tour guide, and two wonderful coordinators Bill and Cindy who got songs and accolades from the Road Scholars at the end. In only four tightly packed days. Don't miss this one.

I attended Island Discovery: Chincoteague and Assateague Islands and found it to be very informative and interesting. Our leader Cindy Oehm was very knowlegeable about the area, as was Mrs. Lorraine Faith. I enjoyed each speaker and felt their topics were very relevant to our program. Meeting other members of our group of 21 was also fun, one being from Europe even. We were told most groups there are usually larger but I liked the number of people in our group. On our last evening, we had entertainment, 3 Sheets, a great trio, and everyone seemed to enjoy the evening a lot. Thank you Road Scholar.

Very enjoyable program. Cindy was terrific and knew so much. She and the other speakers made this naturalist- non history liking person into a believer. The history of these islands is fascinating and the speakers were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their work.

This program was a most enjoyable three day experience giving one a good introduction to a rather unique area of the United States. It can be combined with visits to other nearby places of interest.

Cindy was a terrific leader and made the activites so much fun. Seeing the ponies made the trip for me. The knowledge given about their history was extensive, giving me a much broader understanding of their existence.
